There’s issues with my phone when attached because the phone will change resolution based on content and refuses to stay in 1080P mode. The PS4 and my computer had no issues and I am able to play 3D movies fine on the PS4. The fit on my face is not complete so I can’t have a light source behind me as it interferes. Left a mark on my nose probably too tight or not enough padding. Nearsighted but don’t need my glasses to see which is nice. Lenses adjust for Farsighted needs. The headphone jack works with my noise cancelling headphones giving me extra volume control.
I have bought these twice and love them. The displays are crisp and as good as my 20/20 vision could ever want. The view is customizable with a large diopter adjustment from 1D(100) to -5D(500). Thats better than my high end fpv goggles. I have been using them as a dev platform. The internals are simple… single pcb with two 4k display boxes (one for each eye). There is no edge or blackboard feel. I cannot perceive an end to the screen unless I maybe use the zoom out function. It allows you to go from 100% down to 70% i believe. For $99…. the H5 pro is delivering an hdmi micro input suitable for many off the shelf, plug and play devices… and the battery is built in, so no dangles or annoying cords. I soldered a wifi card and fan onto main pcb so I can have wireless connections and am developing a new shell case currently on v2.2. For a hardware hacking entertainment/sim/fpv device… this is what u want. Nothing else comes close. I wish I could get ahold of the manufacturing team to share some of my step files for upgrading the oem board pcb with these added long range wifi and BT abilities. Buy it… u will thank me later.
This is my second pair, first pair HDMI mini inlet bad, unit would shut down if you touch cable, second pair, put on charger and would not turn on after that (Dead). I used a fast charger, the unit doesn’t have any safety devices installed to protect unit from damage.
3D Blu-ray Experience:Bought these to replace a dead 3D TV, but I guess I was expect too much for the price. For some reason 3D Blu-ray content is missing about 10% of the bottom of the image. This means movie menus and subtitles are either partially or completely hidden. I took pictures (not a easy thing to do) of the Frozen’s menu in both 3D and 2D to demonstrate this. Also the right eye has one row of green pixels at the top (also visible in the picture). There is a button to shrink the picture within the display, but this is disabled while watching 3D Blu-ray content. If you can overlook a small amount of the picture being missing the 3D looks great … as long as there is little motion. For some reason it appears that each eye is being updated alternatively at 24 fps (12 fps for each eye) which creates weird ghosting effect.I tried multiple 3D Blu-rays and 2 different 3D Blu-ray players, but the results were that same, although for CinemaScope movies (2.4:1 aspect) almost nothing of the movie is cropped off due to the extra black bars needed for displaying on a 16:9 screen and the subtitles are visible if they rendered completely on the movie and not in the black portion. The problems (I’m guessing) are from the low cost chips in these that only have enough memory to update one 1080p screen or both at a time and therefore all of these 3D problems only affect 3D Blu-ray content and not SBS 3D content, but I have no SBS content to test.2D Experience:Optics are cheap. It’s impossible to get the entire picture in focus. Even after fiddling with the diopter adjustment to make each eye crystal clear and then trying every IPD position, there’s always at least one side (left or right) of the screen that’s blurry in each eye. Fine for watching youtube videos, but terrible for things with text there, such as games.Audio Experience:Quality is fine with no pops or hissing in quiet moments, but the volume is lower than expected at max volume which is loud-ish, but you won’t ever have to worry about damaging your hearing with these.Accessories Experience:The the knockoff Lightning-to-HDMI adapter doesn’t have HDCP like the official Apple one, so Netflix, Disney+, Max, etc. won’t stream while it’s plugged in, but otherwise it works. I don’t have an Android phone to test the USB-C-to-HDMI, but when plugged into an M1 Mac nothing happened.Final Thoughts:Even with 3 dead pixels on the left eye, I almost decided I hang on to them just for watching 2D content, but I really want to watch my 3D movies, so back they go and the money will get put towards a Goovis G3 Max.
I am surprised and love the product after a few try on holidays. The product has very clear screen, built-in battery, light and comfy in wearing. I enjoyed a lot to watch movies and play game when connecting HDMI to my Apple TV and PSS console. I tried the 3D function and it turned out great. Two free adapters of USB-C to HDMI and Apple lightning jack to HDMI made it very easy to use without buying separate accessories. They worked nicely to my iPhone-14 and Switch console. Definitely it is a good buy given the great function and quality. I will recommend it to my friends no doubt.
