Looks good but…
Looks cool but, one of the screws won’t screw up in all the way so there’s a little rattle. Try and tighten the screws and the heads strip, shame.
Got this case because my last SSD drive died when it fell off the table after being used with my laptop. So I saw this enclosure with a magnet on the back so it sticks to the case of the lap top, and lo and behold, on my Powerbook it does indeed stick. Doesn’t even mess up the screen like I thought a magnet would. In addition, it is a tight fit for the 2 TB Samsung T7 drive but it does fit if you wiggle the case a bit while fitting it in. The instructions on the site show where you can bend the aluminum case out a bit to have an easier insertion, which I should have looked at before I got my drive in. But once the drive is in, it is very protected. Plus I love the purple color because it is easy to see in my messenger bag when traveling or going off-site. Lastly, it is a little expensive, I have to admit, but I am one to pay for peace of mind, and I don’t have to worry about dropping the drive and losing my data anymore.
This aluminum case provides great protection for a T7 SSD. It comes in two pieces that are bolted together with four screws using the included screwdriver, firmly securing the T7 inside. The aluminum is strong yet light and provides additional protection against drops and bumps. It does not include foam or other material to insulate and provide shock protection, however.Also included is what appears in the photo to be a lanyard with a clip attached but is just stiff imprinted fabric – although possibly useful for visual identification, it is unclear exactly what the intended use of that item is.The case has a 1/4″ x 20 threaded hole allowing for mounting to a tripod or other accessory, perfect for holding when attached to a camera. It also has a very strong ring magnet that is difficult to remove once attached, so there are no concerns about it falling off if attached to a laptop lid or other flat ferrous metal surface.Overall, a good solution offering extra protection and additional mounting options for a T7 SSD.
