My XPS came with a 2240 shield, needed this to put in a better M.2. It’s copper!
Well, what can I say? It is what it says it is. I got a new XPS13 9310 to update my XPS13 9370 with and when I opened the new one up to replace the ssd, noticed it was a tiny little drive (certainly not a 2280) so, I just placed my old 2280 drive on the new machine, without its heatsink and screwed it straight onto the mobo. Then I found this part here. Not particularly cheap, but I got it anyway and, well, it does what it’s supposed to do. So, good job on whoever made these, terrible job on Dell’s side for not making this difference clear and including a heating that wouldn’t fit a 2280.
