Optimal PCIe Slot Selection
Plugging the cable into a full-length PCIe x16 slot ensures maximum bidirectional bandwidth (e.g., 128 GB/s for PCIe 5.0). In contrast, using an x8 slot halves the available lanes, limiting throughput to 64 GB/s. However, actual performance depends on:
Motherboard PCIe Version: PCIe 5.0 x8 (64 GB/s) still outperforms PCIe 4.0 x16 (64 GB/s).
Physical Slot Integrity: Some x16-shaped slots have only x8 electrical contacts, as seen in older motherboards like the Z97-A.
CPU/Motherboard Lane Allocation: Multi-GPU setups may force x16 slots to split into dual x8 modes.
PCIe 5.0 x16 Spec Excellence: Delivers uncompromised 128GB/s bandwidth with backward compatibility, engineered to maximize Gen5 GPUs including NVIDIA RTX 5090/5080 series and AMD Radeon RX 9070XT(X) while supporting legacy Gen4 devices
Precision-folded Architecture: Factory-preformed bend radius eliminates manual stress points during installation, preserving signal integrity and preventing insulation fatigue in compact PC builds
Vertical GPU Optimization System: Enables secure inverted mounting configurations with 200mm female reverse connectivity, combining thermal management advantages with chassis-flexible installation for ATX to SFF systems
Excellent Compatibility: balances aesthetics and functionality while ensuring compatibility with mainstream chassis from ATX towers to SFF workstations. Neatly routes behind motherboards in vertical GPU setups
Effortless Cable Management: The 200mm ultra-flexible flat cable with foldable design streamlines installation in tight spaces like mini-ITX builds or GPU-dense servers

The riser cable is pretty good, no delays with 4k 240hz gaming even with hdr on, on a 5090. My only complaint is that it’s somewhat stiff and difficult to bend. Using this in the SSUPD meshroom V2 and the motherboard absolutely crushes the cable against the MB tray. This can be problematic as the mobo has sharp solder points on the back and can pierce the cable. For any other case out there this might work out better for you.
