In this revolutionary book, Ali reveals how the science of feel-good productivity can transform your life. Not what I expected… in a good way

However, Abdaal surprised me by offering a profoundly different perspective.Abdaal’s approach in “Feel Good Productivity” is holistic, focusing on the well-being of the individual as the cornerstone of productivity. Instead of just teaching how to do more in less time, he advocates for a balance that promotes mental health, self-care, and sustainable work habits. This approach is both innovative and much needed in today’s fast-paced world. What sets this book apart is its empathetic tone and relatable content. Abdaal doesn’t position himself as just an expert, but also as a fellow traveler in the journey towards a balanced life. So glad I ignored the critical reviews…
Before deciding to buy a book, I always read the negative reviews to see if they put me off. In this case, I’m so glad to have disregarded them. This book is so much more than a productivity manual – it’s more like a guidebook on how to achieve one’s objectives in tandem with leading a fulfilling life. The main tenet is that productivity is not an isolated discipline.I doubt I’m the only person who believed that all highly successful people were ruthlessly single-minded. The book debunks that notion completely. Ali Abdaal draws on a plethora of scientific studies to demonstrate that positive social interactions create an environment where personal productivity increases, and that supporting others can in fact, help us reach our own goals. The book contains a large number of suggestions the reader can experiment with. And these are not wishy-washy suggestions; they are based on the results of research in psychology and many are backed-up by the author’s personal experiences. The writing style is so informal and accessible that I used it as bedtime reading. The wealth of anecdotes brought the book to life and made the strategies easier to recall.I appreciated the summaries at the end of each chapter, which make it easy to identify and commit to memory the important points. This is a book I will be recommending to everyone I know.

Highly recommend to overcome career burnout
It’s like Ali was reading my mind when he wrote this book. It’s exactly what I needed to hear. In the first chapter he describes the struggles he was facing in his career as a doctor and it’s exactly what I’ve been going through the last year. I’ve worked insanely hard in my career and I’ve had amazing success but I’m burnt out and I just don’t have the energy to work hard like I have in the past which brought me the success. My performance has declined and even after all that hard work and good salary I just wanted to quit my job. Ali’s philosophy is simple, but I feel the mindset shift makes all the difference. Success doesn’t mean it has to be blood, sweat and tears, Ali talks about the alternative. I read the whole entire book in one day, I can clearly see now exactly what I need to do and the small changes that I need to make. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned. I like how the concepts are digestible and straightforward and that I don’t need to do loads of exercises like some other books to make the most out of it. I highly recommend the book to anyone facing burnout or no longer enjoying their career.

A Life-Changing Guide to Joyful Productivity
This is a game-changer for anyone looking to enrich their life both personally and professionally. This isn’t just a book; it’s a journey to a more fulfilled and balanced existence. From the first page, Ali’s conversational and accessible writing style makes the book incredibly easy to dive into. It feels less like reading a guide and more like having a personal coach by your side. What sets this book apart is its practicality. Each chapter is packed with actionable advice, grounded in real-life applicability. It’s not about overhauling your life overnight, it’s about making small, consistent changes that lead to significant impacts. After reading this book, I’ve found a newfound joy in my work by focusing on my favourite aspects and ensuring I don’t head towards burnout. The book encourages introspection, prompting me to ask myself harder questions about what truly matters. This has been a profound experience, leading to greater clarity and purpose in my daily activities. “Feel Good Productivity” isn’t just a one-time read. It’s a resource I plan to revisit throughout the year, each time uncovering new insights and strategies to enhance my productivity and happiness.Thank you, Ali Abdaal, for this wonderful contribution to the world of productivity literature.

Productivity has many ways of thinking but this author who I have been following on YouTube, is fantastic on realizing psychological safety via this book. Many good examples of what you should do and NOT do even though it’s the author’s opinion. But these opinions are very true and valid if you have ever been stuck on a similar situation. For the price of the book, you get a lot out of it.And don’t forget to check out on his YouTube as well. This guy is fantastic bringing your morale up.
