James Bates has outlined that “The most profound words will remain unread unless you can keep the learner engaged. You cannot see their eyes to know if they got it so … say it, show it, write it, demo it and link it to an activity”. This book describes the design and development of a Self assessment tool. The developed tool was piloted as an evaluation activity on the E-learning platform(http://ilearn.uom.ac.mu/lms/) of the Virtual Learning Centre for Innovative Learning Technologies,of the University of Mauritius with a group of learners enrolled for the Undergraduate programme Educational Technologies. This piece of work is an attempt to promote a variation in the way assessments are conducted in E-learning and expectantly, in the future, encourage creation of more Self Assessment tools for a more self independent mode of learning.
