Great Chip!
Super fast, does run a bit hot though. Put a peerless assassin 120 on it which keeps the temps in check.
Well, I didn’t expect it to be this good…
Right so I went for the XT, and from my experience, don’t bother with the X, or the X3D, unless you’re doing a specific build. I upgraded from an i7 7700, to this, the Ryzen 7 5800XT, and I am very impressed.I did a new motherboard build (MSI MAG MAX) which complemented this nicely, but the key thing was the CPU comes with a new cpu cooler, the AMD Wraith, which works insanely well together. Fyi, the instructions with the CPU are pretty rubbish, but I knew what I was doing anyway. Also, a heartbreaking amount of force is required to secure the cooler to the CPU/ board, but the pre-applied thermal paste has worked just as well as the MX-4 does. Overall, very impressed, very fast. This CPU can run any game I throw at it, very capable! very good value for the price, and amd ain’t too bad! (intel from day 1).Would recommend – 10/10.Fyi, go for something else if you have anything more powerful than a 4080.
Fastest and hottest am4
Hands down the fastest am4 CPU, be warned though – it can get toasty. For my use case the wraith prism cooler couldn’t hack it, continuously kept jumping to 70% speed or so, which makes it very very noisy. So yea – great cpu but make sure you have plenty of airflow or aio cooling
Excellent processor.
Good disc for speed and gaming but I am not a gamer.
Good
Bought this because I was struggling to find a X3D processor, just as good, if a little slower. Runs very hot though, so make sure you have sufficient cooling. Performs great and stays stable in iRacing.
Perfectly Decent
Not the X3D versionI wanted, but perfectly decent

very annoying didn’t work 🙂
Wouldn’t recommend. Various issues.
While performance may be good. For the price and the energy/heat it uses – I wouldn’t recommend it.Unfortunately it seems like a common issue with the 5800xt. Works well for a few months. Then hits a threshold. Many consumers on different websites state similar stories.Due to this CPU, it caused a major hardware issue with my PC. Which made it unrepairable. So unrepairable that Windows 11 could not even get to the recovery screen, without the PC shutting down due to the AMD hardware error.I had to buy a replacement Gaming Laptop.Electricity/Power Consumption – It definitely increased energy usage. When I was monitoring my electricity usage before and after this CPU – There was a pretty big difference.AMD makes great processors. But I wouldn’t recommend the 5800xt due to various issues. As well as having to say goodbye to my Gaming PC and buy a Gaming Laptop.1/5.
Good processor but you need a good air cooler ya liquid cooler👍🏻I got this for:-19k👌
Great CPU to keep the older AM4 platform going. The only two issues with it is that it is a heat monster and the Wraith Prism included with it has no hope of cooling it properly. The Wraith Prism included with the CPU I bought had what looked like a dot pattern of thermal putty, and not a sheet of paste that it should have. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried installing it, only to be greeted with 75C idle temperatures that quickly shot up to 90-100C under even light loads like booting into Windows.Removing the cooler for inspection revealed the thermal putty dots had barely expanded and through the gaps, about 50% of the IHS was not covered by anything. I scraped all of it off and used some good thermal paste spread out all over the IHS for 100% coverage. This didn’t get the temperatures down much, and the CPU still hit the high 80s under load, with the fan annoyingly ramping up and down rapidly. The blades on my cooler weren’t balanced properly so it caused the whole machine to vibrate more or less depending on how fast the fan was spinning.I opted to just ditch the Wraith Prism and used a different air cooler entirely. Lower temps, no annoying fan noise and the case wasn’t trying to vibrate itself apart like a concrete vibrator.Performance wise, it is far and above the CPU it replaced, a Ryzen 5 1500X I bought back in 2017.
Fait ce que j’attendais, donc je suis satisfaite.
Works on asus b450 motherboard migrated from win 10 to win 11
