Plug and forget exceptional performance router
I have Eero Max 7 for a year now. It marked a life changing event ever since. Even without having a single Wi-Fi 7 device. Because this router is a powerhouse delivering exceptional signal strength, providing coverage throughout a residential building and incredible connection stability, I so far never experienced a single interruption or buffering issues on a 1.6 gigabit internet connection. With potential speeds reaching up to 3 Gbps, support for Thread, Matter, and Zigbee protocols, high-speed 10 GB ethernet ports, I’m covered for years to come. Future looks bright.Eero app is user-friendly, installation is quite easy and it has enough features for an average user, but don’t expect miracles. You won’t be doing any advanced customization as automatic optimization is what’s favored here. Though the price is premium, you are getting top-tier performance and ease of use. Do you want powerful, hassle-free Wi-Fi? This is your router.

Fantastic mesh router and strong family controls
I was dubious about going Eero due to cloud management of the device- however I decided to go with something different after using Asus devices previously. The Eero does lack some capabilities such as VPN connectivity which is a shame (not the VPN endpoint service it comes with) and some capabilities are behind a paywall. That said I decided to pay for all the features and I find they are easy to use and particularly useful. I like the ease of the profiles for device mgmt and like the ease of remote management of the network. It also comes with DDNS capability fie those that don’t have static IP – another useful feature.I’ve no issues with coverage and I’ve also introduced the Eero outdoor device in to the mix, and they all work seamlessly. These are expensive but very capable and reliance devices and have really great consistent speed.Really happy and highly recommended.

Worth it 🙂
Abit pricey yes but by far the most consistent and stable router you can buy. I’ve had a few routers priar to this one which I’ve had now well over a year and I’ve got to say it’s a excellent performer. I’ve listed below what I think are it’s pros-Easy setup-Great range (I have medium sized house 2 bedroom) WiFi in every corner-Great for gaming (no other router I’ve had 4 before this eero has been flawless for online 8 hour sessions).-It doesn’t stand out it looks nice and it’s not too big-I have 32 devices connected to it not a problem.-Great for smart home it has ZigBee and thread.-Future proofing 10gb ports (I have no plans to change router till there’s a significant WiFi generation leap).Only negative is the price but I would say it’s worth it for people who want the fastest WiFi available and who are on faster than 1gb internet.

Look at Arlo and Netgear Nighthawk at the similar price points before buying this
You should read this BEFORE purchasing this router outright. There is NO web interface for this router. It is entirely controlled through an iOS or Android app. You literally can’t modify any of the settings through a web portal. In order for changes to the device settings to be made to the router via the app, it must also be connected to the internet. Basically, you select a change to a setting in the app and it pings a server which sends the setting back to the router. Most granular control is NOT available in the app, and Eero Customer Support is hopeless. Eero is and Amazon product, so every site you visit, every message you send is going through a device which logs your activity in detail, and then can relay that content on to Amazon.Caution: the most advanced settings for functionality, control and security are locked behind 2 layers; First, you need to connect your Eero router to you Amazon account or you can’t even use the Matter/Zigbee funtionality (which is exactly the same as your Echo Speaker Hub), and an Eero Subscription which enables the firewall stuff. Also, double check to make sure that all 4 ethernet ports work as expected. Port 1&2 on mine failed after the first update requiring a replacement. Eero support washed their hands of it because it was provided through my ISP, and my ISP were reluctant to offer a replacement due to the cost and the fact that they provided a router that they thought was delivering access to the net. What I would do differently next time: Check the interface. If you need a browser portal, don’t get this. If you have a more complicated smart home set up, call Eero first and make sure it gives you what you need, because its setup prevents guest devices from communicating with one another. So no Amazon Alexa Speaker Groups on a Guest network etc. Network printers can sit on the Guest Network, but you have to be on the main network to print to them. Guest devices can’t use network printers. Amazon Fire TV, Echos etc. don’t work properly unless they’re on the main network, which means Amazon has more access to core devices and can see things that are on all levels of your network, like now your Echo and FireTV can see your computers and printers. There is no good reason for that, but without a browser portal, there is no granular configuration. It goes on…You can’t configure a multi-tier home network. The least I was hoping for was 3 Tiers; Level1 for administration of the network and the devices on it that was unreachable from the tiers below, Level2 for computers and devices in my home like personal phones, tablets, NAS, Security camera hubs, etc, and level3 for Guests and smart home devices like bulbs, Zigbee hubs, printers, FireTV and Echo speakers, to keep them off my family’s home network and out of my NAS and security system. Ideally, I would have liked to have a Smart Home pocket separate from and below my guest level, so that visitors to my home could control light bulbs and TV, and so that bulbs and hubs could communicate/see the status of others in that pocket, without being able to compromise guests’ devices. You can’t have that. You get a main network, and a guest network. Guest devices can’t crosstalk, and all Amazon devices only work properly and consistently when attached to the main network. If that’s all you need, read on…Now for the good. It’s fast. Really fast, and the Max7 has great stability. It also has good range and decent penetration for internal walls on new building. My last place had brick internal walls so we needed powerline adapters in every room. This place allows for more transparency indoors because the walls are like paper. If you’re just looking for a powerful signal and simple app-based interface, it’s a great router. If you have any more complex needs, instead look for Netgear Nighthawk, or Arlo routers, which are just as powerful, still have mesh functionality, but have web browser interfaces for control, as well as apps, and you can configure multi-tier networks. Arlo even have a set up for Smart Home devices to keep them separate from the rest of the network without losing control.Neither of these options are owned by Amazon, and both offer more for the money than Eero.Hope this helps.

Great when they work, but constant dropouts
I have 4 Eero Max 7’s with wired backhaul. They are easy to use and extremely fast with my 1 gbps connection. However they regularly drop connection which makes them useless for Teams & Zoom calls. Avoid.
