Brilliant storyline and characters. Always exciting to start a new Author but wow, I’m soo glad I did. Fantastic beginning to a whole new series.Loved it.
Aurora & Devon
I liked the balance between the thriller-esque side and the romance. It wasn’t heavy on the ex military, courtroom, thriller but at points it lack depth and believability. There were some ‘carry on’ humour parts that I wasn’t keen on. I couldn’t decide if I liked Aurora especially when she was showing immaturity. I will carry on the series as I want to see Lana put Max in his place and see Chase and Ruby.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A great storyline and characters
First time reading a book by this author, the storyline was good and could imagine the characters. Definitely recommend. I will now read her other books

Good book
A fast-paced romantic thriller with heaps of drama and suspense.The story starts off very tense when Aurora witnesses a murder.There are a few funny and cute scenes where she interacts with Devon as her new neighbour and then when his bodyguard duties take over there is suspense and action. I liked Devon and Aurora as a couple but I thought they went too fast and Aurora was too pushy and desperate for sex.There are quite a few supporting characters and they really gelled well as a big group of family and friends. It felt like I got to know them almost as much as Devon and Aurora. I’m looking forward to reading Max and Lana’s story. Max is seriously overprotective and I actually enjoyed that about him. I’m sure Lana is more than capable of standing up to this alpha male so I’m excited to read their story next.Chase and Devon’s sister seemed like a good match too and I’m hoping their book won’t be too far away.A great start to a new series and one I can’t wait to continue reading.I voluntarily reviewed a free copy provided by the publisher.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book
For once the hero is not super rich!Devon, the hero, is a gentle man (I know, corny, but I cannot think of a better phrase) with family responsibilities, life hasn’t gone the way he expected & he has a lot of self-doubts as well.Then there is Aurora who is not who Devon thinks she is; she’s a young lady with baggage that she is working through but most certainly does not let define her.They are brought together by Max, Aurora’s brother, when he assigned Devon as her bodyguard. What follows is what I would call a melodramatic adventure that is wonderful distraction from everything else going on in this day and age.I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Steamy protector romance
Devon is called in by his friend To watch His sister. Aurora saw something at a party and this has put a price on her head. Devon comes in to keep her safe and Aurora makes his life difficult with her sexy body and their insane chemistry. This proves too difficult for both of them to hold back from what their feelings.Steamy steamy read. Great characters. I thought this book was an intriguing romantic suspense read. Aurora Bennett is in danger because she witnessed a murder. Her brother, Max, hires a friend to pose as neighbor to be her body guard not realizing the chemistry that starts between them. Devon Whitestone vows to protect Aurora at any cost to her brother Max. Devon and Aurora fall in love and they face the danger together. Aurora realizes who is really after her. Aurora Bennett tells her brother that she loves Devon and Devon tells Max the same. Aurora finds out that it was Nadia who put her life in danger. Every chapter was a suspenseful read. Looking forward to reading the next bok in the series. I thought the ending was good.
The chemistry between Aurora and Devon literally jumps off the page forbidden attraction, high stakes, and nonstop action make this story impossible to put down.
This high quality rollercoaster of suspense and romance is quite gripping. The characters have heart and soul, the danger realistic, and the steamy bits aren’t too over the top. Very well written. I’ll definitely read more books by this author.

With more twists and turns than a country backroad Ms Shield takes us on a suspenseful and action packed ride as Devon and his friends try to figure out who is behind the threat.I was on the edge of my seat throughout this book and loved the way the author gave us enough information to suspect everyone! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and felt myself holding my breath on more than one occasion. The intimate scenes between Devon and Aurora progressed naturally and were wonderfully steamy!!!🔥🔥This is an excellent read and I’m ready for Head First, then next book in the Bennett Security series! This is my voluntary review.
