Easy to set up and looks really professional to your clients. Good size viewing screen, I use it with an iPad Pro.The app is easy to use and nice that you’re able to choose different font sizes, screen and type colours. Also good that you can edit text directly in the app if there are last minute adjustments.Great that it comes with a remote so the speed can be controlled by the user.All packaged safely within a padded hard case.
Great teleprompter but fiddly to put away
This teleprompter which uses your tablet works really well with the app.Setup was relatively easy and doesn’t seem to move when the tripod is moved around but there is a possibility it may angle down if heavy handed so best to set it up and leave it.The filter works really well and there is no vision of the text from within the cover and the image is bright and clear.The app allows you to change the size of the text and colour for ease of reading.I would say my 11″ tablet was maybe a little small as I had to make the text quite large so if you have a larger tablet or maybe an external screen this would work well.The remote is responsive but clicky and doesn’t include batteries.It comes in a good case and is protected but putting it away is fiddly as you need to have the glass at the correct height to clear the shoe when folding up and if you cont keep the foam you may scratch the glass inside.
In one word it’s a godsend
I was a bit reluctant to purchase this item since I was not sure how the videos would look like with a glass between the subject and camera lens. Well I’ve been surprised in a good way since It kept the same quality as nothing has been placed in front of the camera. I’m using a Sony Alpha 7IV with 28mm lens.
Very handy
Really nice teleprompter, it made recording scripted videos a lot easier, it’s not obvious to the viewer that I am reading from a script anymore, you can also have your livestream chat on the teleprompter which is great for making livestreams more personal, though my viewers did say it’s a bit creepy having me stare into their eyes while reading their messages.The teleprompter does darken the camera a bit, and it does lose a fair bit of sharpness unfortunately, so if you’re aiming for maximum video quality, this isn’t the best option, but for the price, this is a fine teleprompter for amatuer use such as making online videos and livestreaming.My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a mini hdmi to hdmi adaptor, I use it with the included usb cable, but there have been a few times where I wanted to take off the monitor and use it with another device that cannot do display and power over USB.
Real Godsend
The teleprompter has been an absolute Godsend for my online tutorials. I can prepare what I want to say to my audience before hand and not have to cut and re-record constantly or look back at my prompt cards like I used to. The scrolling speed of the text can be managed and stopped for practical demonstrations. The prompter is a convenient, parctial size and easy to read. The best thing is that it is within most peoples’ budgets allowing them to work like total professionals.
Professional feel with beginner friendly setup
I use this teleprompter to help me with my live streams and youtube recordings and honestly it’s made a bigger difference than I expected specially because of the 11″ beam splitter glass which is super clear and I can easily read text from a few feet away without straining(the good part is that I don’t even have to wear my glasses like I used to do before and I look better in the videos). The hood does a good job of cutting glare caused by the studio lights that I have.What really sold me on this model was the built in 8″ full hd monitor because there is no need to balance a phone or tablet like I used to do before and to make this work I just connect my laptop with the included cable and the script is mirrored straight onto the screen. Just to give you an idea it’s pretty much plug-and-play, which is perfect since I didn’t want to mess with extra apps or tricky setups, this is why I say that this product is very easy to use. I even used it as a secondary monitor during a stream, I have put my live chat window onto it so I could keep eye contact with the audience while reading the text and only that feature (besides others)alone makes it feel like pro gear.Build quality feels great too, the aluminum frame is lightweight but at the same time sturdy and the adjustable camera mount makes it easy to line everything up just right. I like that it supports dslr, mirrorless and even phones, so it adapts to whatever setup I want to use. The quick release plate makes swapping in between the cameras or even the phone very easy and I appreciate the little touches like extra mounting screw holes for different rigs(sometimes I used the mounting plate for different things and I feel like I got the next truck accessory for free).The experience of using it is great, the scripts flow naturally and I don’t get distracted with settings during the recordings. This product is also portable to take with me and it also doesn’t feel flimsy.It’s definitely not the cheapest option but considering I got both a proper teleprompter and a built in monitor in one package, I’d say it’s great value.
Really loving this Neewer teleprompter because I was tired of using a teleprompter that required using my phone as the projection device. I wasn’t able to accurately track what clients were saying on camera, but with this Neewer teleprompter, I can not only use my iPad as the input device, but I can now follow along while my clients read from the screen.Other Pros:+ Camera lens isn’t attached directly to the hood of the teleprompter. This is what stopped me from getting the Elgato version. There is a quick release that holds the camera and allows you to position it.+ Can use variable ND filters. With teleprompters that are attached to the camera lens, it was very challenging using a variable ND.+ No need for external power. This is awesome because my iPhone or iPad powers the device through USB C, which means this teleprompter is totally portable. This is important for me as I film from my client’s offices, etc.+ Easily taken apart and set up. It’s not one big device, so again, this makes it far more convenient.+ Can be used with my computer. Like the Elgato version, this can also act as a screen for my computer and be used during live streams or Zoom calls.Cons:- The camera holder section of the teleprompter is too flexible and feels flimsy. The plastic needs to be much more rigid or this part needs to be made from metal. This causes my camera to be skewed on an angle. I need to counterbalance my camera and/or adjust my tripod to correct the angle.- No case. This is a massive oversight, in my opinion. But I solved the problem by re-using the foam insert the teleprompter came with and bought a tool bag from Amazon to put the whole foam insert in the bag.- No phone or tablet holder. I had to buy a tablet holder with a clamp to attach my iPad to my tripod. Otherwise, I would need to hold my iPad the entire time, which is very inconvenient.Overall, this is great and I’m thinking about buying a second one to use permanently with my computer.I gave it 4-stars because of the cons I listed.
Used it with my a7iv with a 10 inch tablet.Quick and easy to set up and comes with a decent carrying case.
