They appreciate its ease of setup and consider it excellent value for money, with one customer noting it works perfectly as a CCTV camera. The motion detection features receive positive feedback, with customers able to monitor any type of movement and adjust the sensitivity settings. Recommended
I have used this camera for 2 years. I regularly recommend it to others. The UI of the tapo app is easy to use. The camera is easy to set up. I have this indoors to view outdoors, never any window glare, no issues seeing at night. I have never had wifi issues with it, never had any battery issues with it. I have a memory card in it for playback and storage so no need to sign up to their cloud subscription but you can if that’s what you prefer. Absolutely recommend them for quality, durability and value for money.

Incredible Value and Performance!
I’ve been using the Tapo TC41 for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. Setup was a breeze—just connect to WiFi, pair with the app, and you’re good to go. The 2K resolution is crystal clear, and the pan/tilt feature gives me full coverage of my driveway and garden without needing multiple cameras. The smart person detection and motion tracking are spot-on—it rarely gives false alerts, and the notifications are instant. Night vision is a game-changer: full-colour even in low light, which makes identifying people or vehicles much easier.I love that there’s no monthly fee—everything is stored locally or via Tapo Care if you want cloud backup. The two-way talk is loud and clear, and the camera is IP65 rated, so it handles rain and wind without issue.Bonus: it works seamlessly with Alexa and Google Assistant, so I can check the feed with a simple voice command. If you’re looking for a reliable, feature-packed outdoor security camera at a great price, the TC41 is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!

Always trust TP-Link for their goods. Excellent camera
Brilliant camera. Cannot beat Tapo/TP-Link for their cameras and of course the price. Go for an higher specification if needed but this one is sufficient. All the purchaser needs is a memory card and the Tapo software and all it’s storage is free. No monthly payments (it is an option though) These cameras are worth every penny and can be operated whilst anywhere in the world. This type is also Pan and Tilt so it can monitor any type of movement (via the settings) in and around the property. I would recommend this company for their cameras as TP-Link have been going for years. Very easy setup

Easy to install if you have local power source
Really good product for the money. Clear video, detection zones very good. Will go for a zoom facility next time, you can ‘zoom’ by enlarging the picture whilst recording or viewing, but its only enlarging, there is no true zoom facility. Happy with the product

Upgrade from Nest – never misses a beat
Upgraded to Tapo from the considerably more expensive Nest cameras. Quality is overall much much better. These also look sleek and smart and were a doddle to set up. The cameras integrate well with other tapo devices and the app is a breeze to use- if not quite as easy to scrub through footage. I do find these more reliable than the competition and the playback is always buttery smooth and free from jitters or dropped frames. We use these with memory card (and no subscription!) Saving us a small packet each month. A real win for affordability.

Perfect for filming inside or out
What a super little camera, its small, its really easy to use (no subscription required just a memory disk), its even good visual at night without any lighting other than street lights (I point it out my window from inside), it looks fine, sound is good but I don’t use the sound now, I was trying to capture the regular poop gifter on my front garden, it did the job (a neighbours dog was one culprit and after careful words has now ceased, a local tom cat was the other gifter no available for any words, but I shall not have cat mint on my front garden next year as it brings all the boys to the yard). I’ve left it up to provide additional security for my car, as we have had a lot of thefts lately nearby. £20 what a bargain and quite fun to watch sometimes too.

Tapo C320WS – Outstanding Upgrade from Yale System
I recently upgraded from my old Yale SV-D8 4MX-B LAN-connected CCTV system to the Tapo C320WS, and I can honestly say the difference is night and day.Setup & Installation:Installation was seamless. I drilled directly through the wall into the house, so the cables are fully protected from the elements. Each camera was easily mounted and connected via LAN, and the Tapo app guided me through setup without a hitch. It just worked — no fussing with ports, firmware, or awkward settings.Performance:The video quality is a massive step up from my old Yale system — the 2K resolution is incredibly sharp both day and night, and the colour night vision with the integrated spotlight is genuinely impressive. The cameras lock on to motion reliably, and with a bit of tweaking to the detection zones, false alerts have been minimal.Smart Features & App:The Tapo app is well thought out, offering granular control over motion detection, activity zones, and alerts. The two-way audio and built-in siren are nice bonuses, and I love that I don’t need a subscription — local recording on a micro-SD card just makes sense. LAN connectivity means there’s no lag, buffering, or dropout — something that plagued my old setup.Compared to Yale SV-D8 4MX-B:These Tapo cameras are far superior. The image quality, smart features, ease of use, and build quality are leagues ahead. The old Yale system felt clunky and outdated, while the C320WS feels modern, robust, and efficient. I also appreciate that I no longer need a bulky DVR hub — each camera runs independently with its own storage. If you’re replacing an older wired system like Yale’s SV-D8 series, the Tapo C320WS is a no-brainer. Better quality, easier setup, more intelligent features — and no ongoing subscription. Very impressed so far.

When I bought two of these the price delivered to my door was just $35(each), that’s $20 less than any local retailer. So if you get the UK socket to AUS plug adapter for less less than $10 it’s still a saving. After that the units have both performed faultlessly.

Gotta love TP-Link security cameras. They are affordable, feature rich and do the job perfectly. Whether it is this one or others in the camera product range, they just seem to work very very well. The downside is the cost of connecting to their cloud service (if you want to take that up) – it starts to get a bit pricey. You can always host you’re own NVR and switch these to ONVIF. But I like the ecosystem and it definitely has a wife approval factor ticked!
