Customers say

Customers find the wireless remote control works well with Sony cameras, particularly with the a7ii model, and appreciate its comprehensive buttons that control every aspect of the camera. The device is easy to use and feels well-made, with one customer noting it allows shooting from long distances. They consider it great for wildlife photography, and one mentions it’s particularly useful for hands-off shooting and video with the Alpha 99. While customers find it well worth the money, opinions on value are mixed.

Covers all the basics including multiple camera triggering, and it’s not expensive
I purchased the genuine Sony item rather than the look-alike item which is a little cheaper. At £19.95 I preferred the Sony one to the look-alike as I was only otherwise saving about £8.The remote covers all the basics including menu navigation, shutter triggering, movie recording triggering, etc. I can’t actually see the point of the button that allow you to remotely review previously taken photographs, bin them, etc. But I guess a remote play option may be useful if you’ve got your camera’s HDMI output connected to a projector and you’re presenting a slide show…One nice feature is that if you have a multi-camera set-up, provided all cameras can “see” the IR output this remote provides (line of sight in the direction you point the remote, plus or minus 10-20 degrees) then all cameras will respond in the same way and at the same time, e.g. if taking multiple photographs or movies of the same scene or for stereo photography I suppose.Easy to use, inexpensive, and it covers all the basic operations needed, so recommended.

Perfect
Went for the Sony remote over the cheaper non-branded remote for my A7Rii. You can fire the shutter remotely having switched on the camera’s remote control function giving you instant shutter fire, two second delay or, if you set the camera to ‘bulb’, manually timed shutter firing. Bear in mind, cheaper remotes on the market provide these functions too.So, what does the Sony remote provide in terms of additional functionality? Well, it allows you to control every aspect of the camera. You can access all the menu/settings and change them at will. You can also start and stop video recording via the ‘start/stop’ button. You can also remotely control the camera’s picture review mode and send pictures to a printer if you have a printer set up for that. It feels well made and is pretty compact. Is it worth the extra – IMO, yes.

Great compact remote
A great remote for the Sony A6000 — compact, easy to use, and reliable overall. I would have given it 5 stars, but the shutter button occasionally fails to respond.

Faulty
Would not connect to camera and when trying to check the battery the plastic holding the battery snapped off completely

Simple and does what it is suppose to do
Bought it for my A7R3 and A73, worked well once connected, slightly more expensive than the third party ones but definitely feel the extra is worth itPros:Feels much better constructed than third parties control, feels like high quality plasticThe buttons are comprehensive and usefulConnectivity is actually great in optimal conditionCons:Sometimes the connectivity is less effective when in open area, back of the camera or area with lots of electronics aroundSlightly worried about the durability with these soft plastic buttons, would have preferred a harder plastic buttonWish it comes with some sort of attachment ring or something, consider this item is small and easy to loose

Works great with my A7Smk2 (A7Sii) – Game changer
Game changer. This will save hours of time on set. We mount our A7Sii to a top-down rig which is hard to access to triggering start/stop has been tricky in the past. This will make things SO much better. Can’t wait to shoot with it.Have just run some tests and accessing the menus is a really helpful feature. You pay a little extra for this one but it’s worth it.Make sure you have info display turned ON in the HDMI settings page so you can see where you’re navigating.

oem but bad value
it fails most of the time on actual shoot.

excellent
After reading the reviews of other remotes, i decided to go for the official sony remote and i am happy with the product. I use it with my Sony Nex 5n camera and it works great. It works from any angle and for quit a long distance. I cannot fault it at all. It comes with batteries so you can use it instantly. I havent tried most of the functions yet just the shutter and timer functions and they work great

Don’t get tricked by the cheap ones that are missing the Sony logo. This was legit , very happy

Rekommenderas!

Ottimo prodotto, comodo, pratico e molto leggero! Enrico.
