Great for every day tasks and as a backup drive
I’ve had this particular HDD in my PC about 2 years now. It still going strong. I have not any issues with since I purchased this hard drive. I would like to point out that this is not my primary hard drive – I use primarily as a secondary drive for storage, holding various content, some light photo/video editing and for writing documents. For my purposes this has turned out to be a pretty reliable hard drive.Given that it’s a mechanical hard drive it’s not silent but it’s not noisy either. It’s pretty easy to live with and not a distraction.Value for money? For me it has been so far. This is a drive I would highly recommend.
Great storage for a good price
The Seagate BarraCuda 8TB 3.5” internal hard drive delivers a lot of storage for the price. Installation was simple in a standard desktop case, and it was immediately recognized with no setup issues. Transfer speeds are solid for a mechanical drive, especially when moving large game files, photos, or project folders. Noise is minimal during normal use.For anyone who needs space for game libraries, media collections, or backups, 8TB goes a long way. It works well as a main storage drive or as a secondary drive alongside an SSD. The BarraCuda line has been reliable for long-term use, and the drive runs cool under load.If you want a large, dependable storage upgrade without paying SSD prices for high capacities, this is a practical option and good value.

Great large capacity storage drive
I prefer these older-style true disk drives for reliable data storage.I still have space to fit one of these in my desktop PC alongside my main NVRM PCie digital drive.This one, being 8TB, is ideal for storing images, videos, and general back-ups. I feel these can be relied on for long-term data storage..Fitment is easy, and the formatted size comes out at 7.27TB, so yes, you lose 0.73 of a TB of available space in the formatting process on a Windows 11 PC, which seems like a lot! but then, on my older 3GB drive, you would lose 0.28TB to formatting anyway, so it’s kind of the norm, and there isn’t anything we can do about it, although sometimes you feel like they should perhaps list an estimated (net) formatted size on storage drives rather than the unobtainable gross size.
Robust storage.
Seagate BarraCuda drives, from my experience are very robust. I’m still using a 500 gig drive that is 11 years old but will copy my files and other small drives to this new 2TB, that is fast and robust, which I prefer saving to, rather than saving to SSD’s.Thank you for the product and service.

bought for occasional use, storing photos. Previous reviews questioned whether the item was used or new. Amazons Ibot could not answer this for me, but I ordered x2 2TB anyway. Both arrived in sealed Seagate wholesale boxes, and after running on CrystalDiscInfo I’m happy that (mine at least) are new. They run quietly and were quickly recognised by AOMEI Partition Assistant for initialising. Otherwise, a conventional 2TB HDD in size and appearance at a competitive price.
