Scythe unveils the Mugen 6 series, Representing our latest innovation of CPU cooling technology. With over two decades of expertise, Scythe, the esteemed Japanese CPU cooling brand, proudly introduces the Mugen 6 (SCMG-6000) and Mugen 6 Dual Fan Black Edition (SCMG-6000DBE). These high-performance 6-heat pipe single tower CPU coolers continue Scythe’s tradition of excellence.
More efficiency, the Mugen 6 series features a 45% increase in fin count at 154mm height, with 6 nickel-plated copper heat pipes integrated into an aluminum heatsink. This design enhances thermal conductivity with a denser fin array and improved soldering for superior heat dissipation. it’s ideal choice for high TDP processor from Intel (e.g. 14900K, 14700K, 14600K) and AMD (e.g. 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D, 7700)
Multi-platform support, the H.P.M.S. V is SCYTHE 5th Gen spring-loaded mounting system that provides a secure fit and optimal contact pressure on the CPU. Easy to install, H.P.M.S. V offers full support to Intel LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA115x, LGA 2066 and AMD AM5 & AM4 Platform.
Excellent compatibility, features a heatsink offset design that ensures compatibility with various cases and avoiding interference with front-row RAM slots and VRM heatsinks on the motherboard.
Silent Operating, equipped Scythe Wonder Tornado 120mm Fan, boasting a 9-blade vortex-type design and a re-adjusted fan hub-to-blade ratio, ensuring excellent silent performance while reaching a maximum speed of 2000RPM.

Quiet, easy to fit
Arrived ahead of schedule!I’ve used Scythe in my last 3 builds, and this one’s the best yet.Fitting was straightforward and secure, and the 120 fan runs quietly.Note it does fit LGA1850 – it’s the same as LGA1700
Silent, efficient, and a great price
I was looking for an aftermarket air cooler to replace my Wraith Stealth Cooler, which was extremely loud, especially when in my new Fractal North case. Looking at the review, this seemed to hit the mark for cooling, noise levels and price (significantly cheaper than Noctua, for example).Couldn’t be more pleased with this cooler. I’m getting 10 degrees cooler with my 5600x at idle, and temps of around 60 when playing Cyberpunk compared to my old cooler and this cooler to really quiet, only really noticeable when powering on the computer for its initial blast of the case fans. It’s also a low height and fits the Fractal North Mesh case perfectly.
Fantastic performance, but it needs better manufacturing.
Despite mine had a manufacturing error as it was bent out of place which puts it at a crooked angle the Scythe Mugen 6 still delivers great cooling performance, especially with Noctua fans.
Easy to install, kept my AMD Ryzen 7950 well within spec even during RAM test. Used provided thermal paste, enough for two applications at least (I cleaned and reseated while diagnosing an unrelated issue with RAM, so I installed twice). Fans are nice and quiet, comparable to my Noctua case fans to my ear. Very affordable for a hot running cpu, imo.
silencioso, buena calidad, estetico
utile pour le micro processeur
I was upgrading my CPU from a 3700X to the 5700X3D and seen Scythe had a new Mugen out. I had to of course upgrade that as well, though nothing was wrong with the 5 Rev. C Black Edition I had. This is a great cooler all around. Looks nice, performs well, can be used on most CPUs, isn’t overly large, just a solid cooler for the price. It’s quiet as well and cools the 5700X3D just fine, especially when undervolted, as you should be doing anyway. I get better thermals with this cooler on the 5700X3D than the 5 got on the 3700X, which was surprising as the X3D chips typically run a bit hotter. One thing to note is the mounts are not the same as the Mugen 5. Minor changes were made to the bracket system as well as the cooler itself. No biggie, the AM4 mounting setup is simple enough to swap out.I’m still undecided about the smooth top look vs the button topped 5, but they both look nice and perform as expected. If you are buying the Mugen 6 get the dual fan version. Yes it costs more but with the extra fin density you need a push/pull fan setup. I don’t know why they even offer a single fan version.
