Nice Gm Screen Shame about the Blood Potency Table
The GM Screen is lovely but has one major problem with it The Blood Potency table inside the Screen is wrong and has not been updated with the new table from the Vampire: The Masquerade Companion which was done in 2020, Yet this screen which says on amazon. Product details Publisher : Renegade; 1st edition (3 Aug. 2022) so Renegade is basically been lazy and not corrected the printing for this print run. I would wait until this has been fixed before buying.
So I noticed a bunch of people saying the blood potency table was outdated. When I received mine I was expecting to have to print out the updated one off the Companion and glue it over the screen’s table, but I was delighted to find out that it had an accurate blood potency table! My guess is, they had runover stock from the outdated one, so when they updated this listing with the new one, the distributors simply had to go through the old stock first before they could start sending out the new one. Either way, satisfied with my screen, and happy for the nice suggestions in the book that comes with it!
The artwork is beautiful, the construction is sturdier than 90% of GM screens I’ve purchased. The storyteller book information is really useful for off the cuff SPC creation,Despite Renegade saying the information on the screen would be updated before release, the internal information is the same as the first print screens by Modiphius, as such the Blood Potency information is not correct post errata. This can be resolved by adding 1 to blood die and curse.
Much like how the corebook is slighty hard to navigate efficiently, the screen suffers a similar issue. The screen provides useful information but would be just that much more useful if it gave you a page number in corebook for info reference. You will generally find yourself relying on the screen just fine, but those moments you wish you had a little more info to go off of will have you scrambling to an online wiki rather than ideally being sent to a direct page in the corebook with a page number by each table. A cheat sheet made on the side works as a substitute if you’re down for the extra work. Still, I wouldn’t gm without it personally.
