A great lens
Excellent lens and makes a brilliant combo with z50/ii for architectural/city type shoots. Didn’t think I’d use the power zoom feature much, but it’s surprisingly useful.

Lovely lens, a must buy for Nikon crop sensor owners.
Just received this 2 June, one of the first in the U.K.Paired it with my Nikon Z30, one of the best cameras for the money that can be bought today.I already have the kit lens (decent) and the wonderful Viltrox 13mm F1.4 which is another must buy.This lens suits a different purpose compared to the Viltrox.The Viltrox has wonderful bokeh and quite a unique look to the photos and videos out of it. I will continue to use that lens for my YouTube (where I compare these two lenses). For things like talking heads on tripods, product close ups in slow mo, inside shots etc in a controlled environment the bokeh and speed of the Viltrox is what you want.This lens is better for travel and out and about. Not only do you gave focal lengths ideal for say, taking it on holiday, it has VR stabilisation which really makes a difference to the out and about videography. It is also half the weight of the Viltrox and about an inch and a half shorter.The lens is incredibly sharp and produces much more pleasing images than the decent kit lens. It’s a miracle of quality in a small package. Even though it doesn’t have the knock out bokeh of the Viltrox.2 lenses with similar focal lengths at the widest on the Nikon, but two very different use cases.

私は、いろいろな趣味があるのだけれど、そのうち鉄道と登山に関しては、カメラで写真を記録している。趣味でホームページも作っているので、写真もそれなりのものにしたい。以前はNikonのD7100という一眼レフカメラを17-70mmの汎用レンズと併せて用いてきた。とても気に入っていたのだが、D7100の液晶が壊れてしまい、修理不能とのことで、カメラを買い替えることになった。そこで、Nikon Z-5というミラーレスカメラにした。私は、正直にいって、カメラのことはあまり詳しくないのだけれど、Z-5への変更にあたって、レンズも購入し直す必要があったので、まず、これまで用いてきたレンズに比較的性能の近いと思われる「18-140mm」のものを購入し、次いで、本アイテム、すなわち「NIKKOR Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ VR Zマウント APS-C 12-28mm」を購入した。従来、一本のレンズしか用いてこなかったのだけれど、今回、このレンズを購入して、とても使い勝手が良かった。そもそも、2本目のレンズを購入した理由としては、以下の2つである。1)　画角の広い、スケールを感じさせる写真を撮りたかったこ2)　撮影対象まで、十分に距離をとれないケースに対応したかったこと果たして、いずれの点においてもとても満足のいくものとなった。理由1)に関しては、やはり登山した際の雄大な風景を収めるのに、このレンズは威力を発揮するということ。画角が広く、かつ自然に、あとで写真を見た際「そう、こういう風景だった」と思わせる説得力をもった写真が撮れる手ごたえを感じることが出来た。理由2)に関しては、私は、鉄道遺構（廃線跡）の探索などもやっているので、撮影環境によっては、背後が崕や川だったり、あるいは藪が生い茂る環境だったりで、撮影対象の大きさに対して、十分な距離をとれないケースがある。このレンズを使ってみると、そのような制約が大きく緩和されたことを実感する。とにかく自然に画角を広げてくれるのが良い。また、レンズ径等から、光量も十分に得られると感じられる。3点実際に撮影した写真を添付しておく。一応、捕捉として、レンズ保護用フィルターとしてMARUMI レンズフィルター EXUS レンズプロテクト 67mmを用いている。本体（Nikon Z-5）の設定は、AUTOにして、私はボタンを押しているだけである。もっと条件を追求するポテンシャルは存分にあると思うのだけれど、気軽にこれだけの写真が撮れるのは、たいへん満足である。重量も軽く、携行も楽だ。なお、添付した写真は、投稿時ですでにサイズを小さく加工しているが、投稿処理で、さらに圧縮されるので、その点はご了解いただきたい。3点のうち2点は、雄大な山岳風景（北鎮岳という山に登った時の写真）と藪の中に残る鉄道遺構（橋脚の跡）風景になる。それぞれ、理由1)、理由2)により、このレンズのメリットが出ているものだ。とりあえず、風景写真を撮る汎用レンズとして、非常に使い勝手が良く、現時点でとても気に入っている。
