WOW Netgear never disappoints! Massive Speed Increase
Seriously this is why i only buy Netgear products, honestly every penny was worth it. I tend to buy and upgrade all my Networking equipment every 3 or so years and this router does not disappoint. I was averaging around 150mb down and 2 mb up using my previous netgear nighthawk pro xr1000 but this new netgear router is on another whole level. I am now getting 250mb to 300mb down and 5/6 mb up and its a rock solid stable connection. The Wifi also now easily goes all over the house and so my extenders are no longer needed. The new router looks like a xbox lol and is a tower with no annoying antennas sticking out. The interface is also really easy to use and being able to easily use the mobile app to manage makes it super cool. The speed increase this brings is worth every penny, granted i am a tech nut and so always upgrade all my tech every year or two, but i can not stress enough how important it is for users to use there own router vs using the rubbish slow routers most isps provide. The VPN built in is also great, and the 1 year bitdefender is also a nice touch. The features included with this router if you know how to use them are incredible and i would recommend all users buy a netgear router, they really are the best in the business.
Blazing Fast WiFi and Excellent Coverage.
got the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 7 Tri-Band Router recently, and it’s been an absolute game-changer for our home network. The WiFi 7 speeds (up to 19Gbps) are genuinely impressive, downloads, streaming, and gaming all run smoothly with zero lag. Even with multiple devices connected at once, including smart TVs, phones, and laptops, the performance stays rock solid. The coverage is excellent, reaching up to 3,500 sq ft without any noticeable dead spots. I was especially impressed with how well it handled multiple users and devices, it easily supports up to 200 devices, making it perfect for larger households or home offices. The tri-band system intelligently balances traffic, keeping everything running efficiently.Setup was straightforward thanks to the Nighthawk app, which guides you step by step. The 10 Gig internet connection support is also a great bonus for anyone wanting to future-proof their network or take full advantage of high speed fiber connections.
Good, but not excellent
Good and and reliable connection. Yet, The range of signal is not as great and Two Lan’s do not work, as aggregation. No problem with connection stability and speed.. yet, something is out of order
No support from Netgear beyond changing settings
I have given this product, the netgear rs700 1 star as it does not work properly with Apple Airplay and Sonos speakers over ethernet and Netgear can’t solve the problem/give no support (I have to use ethernet to the speakers as all the neighbours have WIFI running and there is not enough channels on 5ghz and 2.4ghz, so ethernet solves the interference problems)If you add another brand of hub into the equation then it works and Netgear don’t know why.I have been in contact with Netgear support about this problem from 10th Feb 2025 and it’s now 25th May 2025, that’s 104 days and no fix.In the beginning they kept coming up with small tweaks in the settings, none of which helped and I had already tried, they asked for diagnostics and progressed to 2 level supportThere have been no fixes or progress. This is a typical response from them, and guess what, nothing happened, no reply after this, nothing.”NETGEAR Support Agent2025-04-28 17:42:33Hi T,Thank you for the follow up email.I will try to request specific progress for this case.I will get back to you once I get an update.XXXNetgear Level 2 Support”and a month later, guess what, NOTHING!To me, when you buy a product, you pay for the product and also support, however, Netgear don’t give you support, just the ‘brush off’ if it’s outside of changing a few settings, I’m really not joking here, they don’t fix issues.Don’t buy from Netgear, their support is appalling and they simply fail to fix their problems with their devices.Router itself is nice, and the WIFI 7 is strong and has a good range, but if you want something more than just browsing, like Music over the internet with your favourite speakers, don’t take a chance with Netgear, use another brandI hope this helps your decision
Easy to set-up and great WiFi coverage
We bought this to replace an ISP-provided ZTE router. It was simple to set-up and greatly improved our WiFi coverage. It works extremely well with our Netgear EAX 80, giving an effective and easily managed Mesh system at a very reasonable price. The system has “Armor Now” additional security at an additional price for those who feel they need that protection, but this is simple to disable for those who don’t need/want it.
Excellent performance with Vodafone Full Fibre 500
Bought this to replace the Vodafone supplied router as it was a bit underwhelming with its Wi-Fi range, speeds, and buggy firmware. With Vodafone you will need to ask them for your PPPoE username and password. The Netgear RS100 appealed to me as it was relatively cheap (does not have 6GHz Wi-Fi), from a reputable brand with decent support / firmware updates. It works really well, my broadband speeds are 500/70 which is what the Vodafone supplied router got but the RS100 is more consistent (using ethernet cable and over Wi-Fi) and web browsing feels more responsive. My PlayStation 5 also works really well with UPNP working as expected. If you want a no nonsense router that is affordable you cant go wrong with this, just make sure it is what you need as it doesn’t support mesh networks (meaning for good coverage throughout your entire home you need to place it somewhere central), and lacks 6GHz Wi-Fi. The most interesting feature though is you can also disable the LED lights from blinking when there is network activity 🙂
Be able to enable the bridge for certain port(s) and it’s configurable easily.
Out of my 1 Gbps bandwidth I get like 600 Mbps on all of my devices in a very small apartment. Huge lag spikes in gaming, every 20-30 minutes I get latency spikes of around 5000 milliseconds (20 milliseconds average). If you are techy and want to debug it, forget it. The capabilities of this device are so limited, that any cheap tp-link would beat it. It has some logs but they are useless, they don’t write any useful info. It’s advertised that it has VPN client features, but in reality it’s limited to only one VPN provider that is of a very low quality.Router has a Broadcom chip and there is no custom firmware available for this platform. And the stock firmware is an absolute trash. Almost all of the features require a subscription. This is an ok router for a regular user, but for an advanced user, gamer or tech guy this is an absolute no. But if you want a regular router why should you spend more on a thing that works worse than any low budget solution. If I still could return it I would, but I had it for a year and now I will just throw it in a trash bin and get some ASUS instead.
Lättkonfigurerad, snabb, tyst, kall, stöder all WiFi-standarder,inte stor.
