The PZ-67 VP-4 automatic locking jaw style pliers (mole grip pliers) are the latest addition to the superb range of ‘neji-saurus’ screw removal pliers by ENGINEER. These pliers come equipped with specially designed screw removal jaw grooves which won’t slip or slip off …and furthermore, the locking jaws facilitate a vice like grip on the screw head. With normal/standard locking pliers a degree of trial & error (& time) is involved adjusting the the jaw gap to the right gap for the intended target/material …however the PZ-64 jaws automatically self adjust – a real time saver! ENGINEER’S ‘neji-saurus’ range of screw pliers have been specially designed to remove screws with damaged heads – quickly & easily …just grip the screw head & twist it out (& unlike other pliers, the neji-saurus pliers won’t slip or slip off). These pliers have a unique jaw serration design (with the grooves arranged both horizontal & vertically) which ensures a firm grip on the screw….it’s this jaw design which differentiates the pliers from standard pliers.
Easy Screw removal. simply grip the screw head & twist it out.
Unique jaw serration arrangement allows a firm grip on screw heads without slippage
easy release handles (allows one-handed operation)
anti-slip elastomer comfort grips

Professional quality tool; more expensive but worth it
Engineer is Japanese brand whose tools are of very high quality and designed for the professional user; a small number of specialist and semi-specialised items were purchased since the first introduction some years ago. Unlike other Oriental-made brands, the grade of steel used is high and very suitable for the task. Lesser Oriental brands use a cruder and softer steel that usually includes aluminium and other metals derived from vehicle scrap. This “ENGINEER pz-64 Locking Pliers, Black/Green” is not just another locking pliers but has its own unique features, firstly in the jaws that include vertical grooves to lock onto a screw head, nut, bolt etc should it have been previously damaged in some way and not removable by other means. It is then capable of removing it cleanly and easily. There are also the usual horizontal grooves, too, for every other situation. The tool is quite short, only 14 cm (approx 5.5 inches), and ideal for smaller tasks and use in tight spaces.Engineer have also modified the design from the usual. Not only have soft-grip handles been added but its overall design locks very differently to other ‘Mole’ wrenches; when most have a separate locking and release bar built into the section without the adjuster screw, this design needs only to have its handles prised gently apart. Otherwise, functionality is identical.Quality comes at a price and Engineer-brand tools are more expensive than other high-end equivalents. Compared with the bargain brands that may not survive the first half-dozen tasks facing them (many of those previously purchased failed after just one or two), these are most likely to survive a working lifetime.
More useful than the Neji-Saurus pliers
I have both these and the PZ-59 RX neji-Saurus pliers, and i find these the more useful of the two. The Nejis are great, but you have to exert some force on them with your hand to grip badly stripped screws, whereas these just lock on. The quality is pretty good, not the absolute best as they tend to rattle a bit, but nothing that gives me concern. I love the Nejis, but if i could only have one pair, I’d pick these.
A top quality and unforgettable tool
It happened that I needed a locking plier in general and a screw removal kit. To my surprise, I discovered this product. It’s compact, durable and made with good quality materials. The instructions are very simple to follow.I was able to remove a worn and rusted screw in my oven element cover. Previously, I spent a couple of days trying to remove it and had ran out of options. It was the perfect size to use in such a narrow space.I would’ve given it 5 stars if it had a release mechanism. Regardless, I’m proud to own this and highly recommend it.
Good screw extractors
Good quality item as you would expect with Japanese made tools. Works great for extracting screws, but if you plan on buying these to replace regular vise grips, you cant. It shows that the max it can take is 20mm pipe, it’s not close to that. I’d say the max would be 10mm ish, tried 20 and it’s impossible to close them no matter the setting it’s on. Tried a 15mm bolt hex head and it couldn’t do it. Tried 10mm round steel and it was able to clamp that, but I think these are mainly made as screw extractors. For screw extractor pliers they’re 10/10.
Very easy auto size adjusting grips.
I did buy & try the Locking Pliers with Unique Non-Slip/gripping Screw Removal Jaws for The Easy Extraction, after I used for a few days, I very impressed by it’s quality, at which point I got my son a Locking Pliers, so he has his own & not use my Locking Pliers. Once set the Auto tension works very well on different size screws.
Not great.
Not great. These look and feel like cheapo locking pliers. They are made in Taiwan, rather than Japan, and not made to Engineer’s usual high standards. The top plastic/rubber handle cover slides around on mine, and the cut-out in the tips of the jaws does very little to add extra grip on screw heads. I tried these alongside some standard locking pliers from Milwaukee and found the Milwaukee pliers easier to use. This was for removing stripped out panhead allen screws. Engineer’s pliers made in Japan are very nicely made and functional. I use a small pair very often at work stripping computers.
Small and well made
A small specialist mole grips. Made for getting difficult “rounded” screws and bolts out. The advantage of this style of tool is you can grip the head of a screw and just turn it until it comes out, with no having to adjust the position of pliers on every turn. I find this feature very easy to use myself, with my bad wrist joints. Not for using on the larger types of bolts etc. but a very handy tool to have for smaller stuff like you find on motorcycle engines etc., which usually have very soft screws on them.I highly recommend this tool for “mashed” screws.
Toy grips
Nice toy… not a tool in my box thank you.. auto slip no grip
La prima che ho acquistato era pessima, ma quella che ho preso ora è eccellente !!! Ottima qualità sotto ogni punto di vista !!! Manici e ganasce perfettamente dritte !!! È manegevole al 100% ed è davvero bellissima !!! Molla e rivetti assolutamente perfetti ed immacolati !!! Sono davvero felice ed estramamente soddistaffo !!! Engineer pinza voto 10 su 10 !!! Amazon voto 10 su 10 !!!
I got the 145mm model. First, it’s a great and comfortable set of locking pliers. The screw removal notch is great. Knipex copied the idea in their Twingrip pliers, but those are not locking. The notch is not only helpful with screws. With the notch, you can load: 1) t-shank saws, 2) Leatherman Surge/Bibury Pro t-shank saws, files and scalpel holders and 3) 1/4″ bit extenders including Leatherman extenders like their hard to find in-line ratchet. Once locked in, the files, saws, scalpel holders and bit extenders DO NOT MOVE.Maxlvledc posted a video showing this in Dec 2022 entitled “Saw Blade + Locking Pliers = Awesome.” He actually shows the Engineer holding a large Sawzall blade! So this one tool can serve as your pliers and a handle for your saw, file, utility blade and screwdriver. To be fair, the handle angle is not great for screwdriving unless you have the Leatherman ratchet. But the angle is great for the t shank tools.
It works really well
Perfect! Beautiful and practical, received in good condition, thank you!
