Super fast SSD
This SSD is super fast. That’s the first SSD I purchased to store my videos, videos that I edit ( it uses alot of space! ).For example, when you work on Davinci Resolve, and you have to render huge files, and there is no space on your computer, you render it straight to this SSD, and you are not loosing speed. Also, you can install game in it, and this way you can save space on your computer/laptop. Easy to use, even looks nice, it has rubber protection. Highly recommend, good price as well.

Excellent drive with fast transfers, I was a bit surprised to see a usb-c connection, but i bought an adaptor and it connects to my PC without problems
Good Rugged HDD performing as advertised.
The 5TB model hit and exceed the speeds that is advertise 130mb/s. BlackMagic Speed Test at 1GB file size it hit on average 252.4 mb/s write and 142.2 mb/s read. However, with 5GB file speed test on average 121.3 mb/s write and read 139.6 but, it is common for the 5GB test to have lower speed due to larger file. I also carried out Amorphous Disk Mark 4.0.1 Speed test which is similar to BlackMagic. The results of the test is similar to BlackMagic which exceed the advertise speeds 150mb/s read and 132 mb/s write.All the tests were carried out with MacBook Air m2 via the includedThe hard drive is rugged with good level of protection and the speeds are great for spinning disk. Don’t forgot the hard drive in-side is just seagate 2.5 HDD with nicer case around it. The included USB C to Micro USB 3.2 Gen 1 which is limited to 5gbps which is way faster then what the hard drive can do. Overall I would recommended if you don’t mind paying extra for the rugged hard drive.

Cable does not work with iPhone 11 or older iPad Pro
I have given this a cautionary five stars listening to everybody else is reviews but please be aware that this doesn’t work with the old iPhones I have a iPhone 11 an iPad Pro which both use lightning cables I am struggling to find something to support even hooking it up as yet, I did speak to Seagate and they told me to purchase an Apple adapter which didn’t work at all, and then some other cables which I’m not at work either from what I can see as I was looking at the design if anybody has any ideas on how I can adapt The cable so that it fits in an older iPad, not that old , 2019, or something like that I have seen some adapters now, so I’m gonna try one of them out to see if they work, but it would’ve been nice. If Seagate could’ve said that he doesn’t work with the older models. so my one star simply because I haven’t use this as yet, it has fantastic reviews and if I can find a cable that works directly that would be great, but that doesn’t seem to exist. So any suggestions on good adapters would be fantastically and gratefully received.

I got this in desperation, after my iMac decided it did not like WD for backing up. It still did not work with this LaCie. Frustrated, because this was a new drive and expensive, I narrowed down the issue to my RAM upgrade.As soon as I removed the faulty memory and replaced it with the original Mac memory, bam it did my backup in 20 minutes.It was an expensive purchase $160 for only 2TB, but this will be my trusty reliable backup drive for my iMac to come.I don’t want to go through what I did again. Starting from scratch 3x. Without a backup because the Mac corrupted my other two WD drives with the backups.If you are on the fence, trust me when I say that in the end, it’s not worth losing data and time to start over.The build is amazing. It’s solid, small and has a led indicator light. Comes with two cables and Adobe Creative suite free trial. It’s supposed to be rain proof, drop proof and can handle 1 ton runover by a truck.SHIPPING:Arrived sooner than expected with Prime in a bubble envelope no signature. No padded packaging by Amazon. Lucky I was home and saw it stuffed in my mailbox. If someone stole it, it would have been a nightmare. If it was not the Rugged LaCie, I would have returned it and asked for padded secure shipping.CON: the USB plug into the drive wobbles and does not fully insert. This is a problem if you travel or use this drive on the go. At home you can carefully leave it undisturbed, but why make something so solid to make a delicate USB connection? And this is the latest new drive from LaCie. They might have done this to make room for silicone, but it is better to have a secure connection.I tried removing the silicone protection and inserting the USB that way but it still does not fully click in and insert. There is a gap.Just be very careful about this. The quality otherwise feels amazing with it’s thick aluminium casing. I still recommend it for MAC.
