Quality tools
Useful package. Quality tool with exchangeable bits and extendable drive. Can’t go wrong with Wera. Closes up into a small compact unit the easily fits into a pocket. Great for home or maintenance work.
Useful tool
Fantastic screwdriver set has what you need inside the handle nice and compact fits in my small toolbox that I keep in the house, good quality from a decent brand not sure it’s worth the £44 but I wanted it 😆
Great multi screwdriver
Perfect for having a variety of screwdrivers in your tool kit without having them take up too much room. The full size handle is very comfortable and the different heads that are hidden inside are easy to get to. changing them is fast and easy. The usual high quality that you would expect from Wera
Difficult to retract, otherwise great
This is, overall, a nice product by Wera.A good selection of bits, ideal for every day screwdriving.Only draw back is, when extending the shaft, it can be a bit tricky to push it back down into the screwdriver body with the collar depressed. It seems you have to try a few times before the collar will push down and allow the shaft to be retract. The handle is well shaped and all the components fit together firmly. The supplied pouch is finished to a high standard.
Expensive, but worth the cost.
Owning a few Wera tools, and knowing they are high quality, I decided to shell out and get the Kompakt 20, feeling reassured that Wera don’t make poor products. I wasn’t disappointed! I had some concerns that the handle mechanism would be a weak spot, but having used this for some time now, I don’t think this will be an issue. It feels pretty solid when in use, there is sufficient support to get some good torque on the driver. Ideal for throwing in your pocket/belt and dealing with almost any situation. The Kraftform handle is a familiar feature which I love, although this is a little chunkier than usual, given it is storing the bits inside. It’s my first Rapidaptor bit holder, and it’s fantastic. Really easy to use and holds the bits really securely. I will also be picking up some of those for my driver the next time I’m in need. Exactly what you would expect from a quality German tool manufacturer.
Essential tool
I’m a huge fan of this tool; very versatile and compact. …and the way the it pops open is pretty cool too!The body of the tool is pretty big. I you have smaller hands, take this into account.Wera’s knobbly grip is an acquired taste, but I think it helps. Fat bit for torque, skinny section to spin faster.I don’t like having the bit-holder down by the work, but for simple DIY, it’s never caused me a problem. The actual bits are very good quality, if you don’t abuse them, they last very well, and don’t ruin screw heads.I’m very careful with my tools, but if you abuse your gear, the mechanisms on this could jam up. I’ve had my original one for at least 5 years (used at least once a week at home). I have a lot of Wera drivers at work, but I’ve got a second one for work as I missed the convenience this tool provides. If all my tools vanished tomorrow, this would be very close to the top of the list for replacement.
A must-have for any decent toolkit
I use this almost every day at work and it’s made my life so much easier. No more scrabbling around for the right screwdriver – I attach this to my belt in the morning and if I need any standard driver while I’m out and about for a quick job I can usually do it there and then instead of having to come back with tools. It oozes quality and is incredibly quick to change bits, especially after a bit of practice. It’s far quicker to change bits than any other bitset I’ve used – even quicker, possibly, then bending down to pick up a different screwdriver. The rotating plastic around the bitholder is also incredibly useful, especially when using flatheads as it makes it easy to hold the driver steady and stop it slipping out.The only downside is that there is no smaller flathead bit (No.2 or No.3) but that’s not much of a problem – I just swapped out the rarely-used PH1 bit with a small flathead bit from another set. I wonder though if they have done this for a reason – the driver is advertised as being for use in powertools and I doubt a No.2/3 driver would be strong enough for this. The “Wera Toolcheck” set compliments this driver beautifully – I recommend you buy them both and make a few changes to the drivers you keep in them depending on your usage.
Great Product
This thing is brilliant. You get a really high quality and comfortable handle and a very good quality set of bits in a tiny portable package. It is a little wobbly in use due to the fact that it’s 3 bits (handle, bit holder, bit) but not concerningly so.I really like the quick release mechanism in the bit holder. It’s great to keep around the house without taking up loads of space and it will last, unlike a lot of cheapie bit n’ grip sets, due to everything being self contained, you might not lose the bits either!I personally use it in my work toolkit so that I don’t need to carry a full set of drivers, but I added a fixed driver for the most common size of screw I use as it was a bit daft flipping the thing open and swapping around the bits when 90% was a single size, and the other 10% was the other sizes.
Good product
Wera makes some excellent tools & tool sets. Thanks to Provizon for making these tools available to us in India ( though they are very expensive). I hope that we will be able to buy these tools at a reasonable price point in future. Thanks to Swaroop for a personalized note.
Wera quality, and the bit holder itself being two-staged makes it so much more useful than you think. It can be quite compact or give you that extra bit of reach that you need. Bits included are quite nice and the design of the storage is convenient. Wera handle is amazing as always, and the price is quite competitive when compared to the sad excuse offered at your local Orange / Blue hardware store….
Professionale e versatile. Lo consiglio
This is an excellent screwdriver. Very comfortable to use yet compact and tremendously useful with storage in the handle. To access to the bit holder you push a button on the end of the driver handle. You can also use the Rapidapter bit extension in either the retracted or extended position – which makes the screw driver able to be compact or full-size. Both the bit holder and Rapidapter are spring-loaded and extend with a satisfying click.Because this driver uses standard 1″ bits (and is compatible with 3″ ones too, just can’t carry them in the handle), it effectively turns your existing bit collection into a plethora of high quality screwdrivers. This is extremely handy since, unless you’re a pro with cash to burn on an extensive screwdriver collection, odd are you are not going to drop the bucks on a complete collection of top-quality screwdrivers in Robertson, flat-head, Pozi, Phillips, Torx, hex-key, tri-wing, various security bits… etc. – but you can buy all of those bits for cheap on Amazon (for example: Neiko 10029A Cr-V Security Bit Set, 100 Piece). Plus it requires significantly less storage space and is much more portable.Consider too, the “Rapidaptor” is a bit-holder Wera sells as a completely separate tool for use with drills/drivers. With this screwdriver, you can remove it and use it that way too. It’s quite nice to use too since you can lock back the collar while you insert a bit, instead of having to hold it back while you insert like on most spring-loaded bit holders. When removing a bit, it also pulls it away from the magnet, making it easier. A potential disadvantage (depending on your usage) is that it’s wider at the tip than a magnetic bit-holder or a regular screwdriver. If you are driving into a tight hole, it might be in the way (although you might just switch to a 3″ bit as a workaround). There’s also a good-quality case for the driver in the box and it comes with some Velcro in case you want to attach it somewhere besides your belt.
