Excellent build and quality
I have recently purchased this keypad as part of a home smart alarm system DIY project. I searched for some time to find the what I was looking for and initially discounted this product due to its price point. Although I still think it is ever so slightly over priced, I couldn’t find anything else that matched the build quality and design. It was a little challenging to make use of all the features, however I appreciate that this is very much down to integration you’re pairing it with. My only negative would be the sounder volume which one mounted with the case is a little on the quiet side.
Works with Home Assistant
Works really well with HomeAssistant and Zigbee2mqtt.Seamless integration. Don’t forget to install Alarmo and neliss/zigbee2mqtt-control-alarmo-via-keypad
Works well with Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT
Works well. I have this connected to Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT, and integrated into Homekit through the integration. It arms and disarms quickly, and is possibly the most stable endpoint on my Zigbee network. It does have a built in speaker (sort of) but it’s very quiet. To be part of a fully-featured alarm system you will definitely want to look into speakers!
only supports one pin code
I purchased this for use with a smart lock and the keypad is extremely limited as it only supports one pin code. Prior to purchase, Frient customer support told me that it would be updated within a month to include multiple pin codes natively on the Homey bridge. Now almost 6 months on, there has been no update and Frient now ignore all emails and contact from myself. The only workaround for multiple pins is using Heimdall on Homey pro, but this does not work on Homey bridge. As this is not supported natively on the bridge as promised, I have been misold this item. Terrible customer service form a company that has misold me this product. Avoid at all costs
Connected using zigbee2mqtt and works as advertised.
Together with Blueprint “Z2M – Alarm System with Keypad (KEPZB-110)” the keypad was easy to take in use. Make sure to set aside time to configure the device using the blueprint, as it offers a wide range of features and capabilities. The design is stunning, but due to its unique form language, creating mnemonic patterns—unlike with a standard numeric keypad—is more challenging.
