Promising device, but runs too hot to ignore it.
This router supposed to have all what I was looking for, 2.5gb ethernet ports with POE for my 3 WiFi 6 access points, and dual WAN configuration for redundancy, and fanless design, all in one box, but sadly this runs very hot to the point of limiting features like not negotiating 2.5gbe if too many devices are connected, also limiting POE PD, all when it runs hot which is practically all the time, at this point I would have rather have a small fan to improve cooking, as when you look at the inside of the cage, it doesn’t seem to have a considerable sized heatsink, so I guess the case is the only thermal relief for this unit. Using my infrared thermal camera temperature normally remains at 60c in the outside, but pointing to the inside, you can see the temperature goes over 80c, so I doubt this will be a reliable unit in the long term.Load balancing is a hit and miss, few times work as a charm for a while, but most of the time works using a single WAN, but the failover transfer is smooth and you don’t notice the interruption.Really they didn’t consider the thermals when designing this unit, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
