The USB interface has a transfer rate that’s about 4.5 times faster than USB 2.0. If you have a newer system with a USB 3.0 interface, the included USB 3.0 cable will allow you to take advantage of its superior performance. Using an older system? No problem. The cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports.

Good migration utility software
Bought this to migrate a Windows 10 (yes, Windows 10) laptop from a 500Gb HDD to 250Gb SSD. As there was only 100Gb of data on the existing drive, the fact that the target drive was smaller than the original was not a problem, so you don’t have to use a larger drive as claimed by some others – the amount of data you want to transfer is the important factor.Works off the CD without any software installation, and transferred everything over in approx. 20 mins. It did take 2 attempts to work properly – it seems that the transfer didn’t fully complete the first time, as I ended up with an allegedly corrupted OS. However, I re-ran the migration software (same default settings) and it worked on the 2nd attempt. The target SSD had been used in another machine previously, so guessing I may have had partition issues on the first go.Other than that, it’s a good, simple-to-use utility at a reasonable cost (for Windows machines at least – can’t vouch for how it works with Macs).
Just follow the easy instructions included and it’s as easy as your ABC
Originally brought a Kingston SSD kit that came with it’s own migration software but could not get it to work so I paid the extra for a Samsung SSD and this Corsair Cloning Kit and let me just say it was a breath of fresh air. Just follow the easy instructions included and it’s as easy as your ABC.The cable is of very high quality and will last for quite a while and the included CD is so easy to use.Would highly recommend. I build computers as a hobbie in my spare time and this kit will come in very handy.,
Nice piece of kit, easy to use and straightforward software
Smashing bit of kit, very easy to use and happy now that I have reliable backups. If you click the link to download it from the site it comes up as a dead link but just take the bit off the end of the URL and you can download the software file to your computer to save you having to use the disk each time. I didn’t read the instructions properly and tried connecting it to a sata drive which it won’t work with (I assume it needs more power) but it works fine and dandy with SSD’s – as it says on the tin 🙂
A worthless piece of junk
This item consists of a cable which connects your existing hard drive to the one you want to turn into a copy of it, and a CD with the software to supposedly make the process run. Unfortunately, when you try to start the process, you just get an error message saying the hardware cannot be detected. In other words, this is utterly useless.Furthermore, because I unfortunately only found this out more than a month after buying it, there is not a thing I can do about it. “The Return window has closed”. I wasn’t previously aware of this, but it seems that in effect, Amazon have carte blanche to sell customers any worthless pieces of junk they please, and if for any reason you don’t find out in time, you are stuck with it. It presumably also means that if an item becomes defective after, say, 32 days, there is nothing you can do about that either.I am having serious trouble understanding how this is legal. As far as I’m concerned, £20 has been stolen from me in a confidence trick. At least I can warn any other prospective customers not to buy this under any circumstances, and to think very carefully about whether to purchase technology items from Amazon.
Almost perfect
This is a complete lit for cloning your old drive onto a new SSD hard drive. I used this on one of crucial’s own SSD drives but I understand the software isn’t manufacturer specific.I had to clone my in l;aws very slow 1terrabyte spinning disk onto a spare 256 gig SSD. I put this disk into their laptop and the disk would not initialise. Thinking the disk was faulty I then tried it in my PC and it worked perfectly. So I removed the drive from the laptop and did the cloning on my PC. The software was very easy to use and needed no expertise, it shrank the main partitian automatically without leaving unused space on the receiving drive. Worked first time as well. Corsairs own downloadable software failed to do this, so this gave a tangible benefit over using free software. The USB cable was useful too!
Good product
This item was received and worked.
Could not expect any better-perfect!
I bought this to clone my HDD to an SSD when I was doing a HDD to SSD swap on my laptop. This made that process extremely and surprisingly simple! All I had to do was, just connect the SSD to the laptop via USB with the cable provided, insert the disk and run the software. On the program, I selected the option to clone the HDD to the SSD and after around 4hrs (approximately 300gb of data), I disconnected the cable and swapped the HDD out for the SSD. When I turned on the laptop (now running on the SSD), everything was exactly how it was before! The software had literally copied everything (including the programs which I found really surprising) and had kept all the layouts and settings the same! This isn’t a single use product either and I have used it multiple times!Initially, I was hesitant on purchasing this for £19.99, however, after using it, I am very happy that I did.
ok

Super produit
very good
This product is just a repackaged cloning product called Apricorn SATA Wire Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit with USB 3.0 Connection ASW-USB3-25 (Grey). It just costs more to purchase this item unless there is a rebate offered. Checkout the Apricorn product here at Amazon for yourself. As for the product, it does a good job cloning a new mirror image for you of your main drive. The new drive will work as if it is the same as the old one with a few minor adjustments to be made on your computer after installing the unit. Some programs will need to be tweeted to run exactly as before. And some will have to be shown where saving directories are to be found if you use a network or storage drive that is not the one you are replacing. No real issues to speak about. It is also easier to make a clone backup of your startup disk drive than to do periodic backups and reinstall your software if your system takes a sudden death. All you do is pop in the cloned drive and you are pretty much good to go. Software backups of your computer by Windows are free. This built-in software bridges the gap of your new data files created between new clone updates. Most importantly, you keep all your data in your possession not on a cloud terminal somewhere waiting for the hackers to fly away with your sensitive information. And, don’t forget you pay a yearly fee to keep it there plus your time having to deal with the service. For just $120 or less (software, cable, and HD) you can have an instant backup of your computer ready to go in 5 minutes. Less than the cost of two years of cloud service. And, you control your data and its security.
