Easily put together by a child and keeps them entertained. Bright and colourful.
Faulty but good customer service
After buying it as a Christmas present I was annoyed to find the motor was faulty and was not powerful enough to power the robot. After contacting customer services a replacement was soon sent and now my son loves playing with it.
Missing Parts = Disappointment
Bought this for our 5 year old Grandson for Christmas, who was very pleased with it and excited to start building. Unfortunately as we began to build his chosen model a number of parts were missing, as though a bag was missing from the box. He was so disappointed (as were we) that he was unable to use his Christmas present. The actual item was great and easy to assemble with a little support to help interpret the pictorial instructions. It would have been brilliant had he been able to use it. We were just so disappointed. Trying to contact the manufacturer to resolve was a little too complicated for us as we struggle with IT these days so we have had to request a replacement item. Hopefully better luck this time but it won’t take away the disappointment of our Grandson on Christmas day.
Poor quality
This was great for the first build, but trying to get the parts apart again to try the other models was really difficult. The plastic is far too brittle for it’s purpose, several of the parts broke and even the remover tool snapped too! Had to contact customer services for a refund in the end.
Nice but in Italian
Received this as a gift but it’s all in Italian front and back , haven’t opened it yet in fear that the instructions will be too. Will give it to someone who can read Italian!
Great quality
We built the Dex model this morning as my 3 year old woke up insisting he wanted to build a robot, and I remembered this kit.The 6+ is accurate, as the little clicking joints need a very firm press into place, which is too hard for little hands, or ends up disconnecting other bits in the effort. For my grown up hands though these parts are really good quality and nice to push in, they click back out with relative ease if you make a mistake (and I guess to disassemble to make the other models).The only part my 3 year old could do was pull the rubber moulded pieces off their grids, and they’re well made enough to withstand rough handling.The instructions were broken down into nice clear steps, and all the parts were included. They are thoughtfully colour coded as well, so you don’t grab the wrong piece. I was impressed there are a few sets of self adhesive googly eyes as well.Once together it made a very characterful little robot which looks just like the illustration on the box. When you turn it on it stumbles quickly around and falls over quite a lot, but it’s charming enough that this doesn’t really matter. I feel like a slower motor would make it more sure footed, maybe some of the other models need more oomph than this one.Will keep an eye out for price drops on this, as it makes a fun present.
