Printer, scanner copier in one
Great printer, had to buy since I accidentally threw a cup of tea over my previous one. Works great. Can take a while to wake up when you want to use, bit otherwise no complaints
GREAT PRINTER BUT
This is a great all in one printer BUT be aware that its designed for Windows 10, which expires THIS OCTOBER 2025 this is NOT mentioned on the Amazon description, luckily i have enrolled my Windows PC with Microsoft to obtain a Windows 10 extension BE AWARE.
Once set up this printer was good value
Fairly cheap as printers go. Setting up was not straightforward for me. User manual gave lots of advice. After difficulty linking printer to my computer I found that the best way was to use the IJ set up assistant. Once set up this printer has been no problem.
Best printer I ever had
I really wanted this printer to be kind as I had a lot of things I needed to do and I have to say it took from opening the box to printing documents and photos off my Google Pixel 8 Pro about 10 minutes. The app is marvellous, the design is superb and the print quality is perfect. Buy without hesitation, it really is that good.
Unfortunately I would Avoid 😕
So I brought this a while ago but didnt set it up till recently. I brought it to print of some of my coursework I would need for a speaking exam.After reading the reviews, and after looking at few different ones, I went with this.I wish I hadn’t.To print just one page, takes ages, so then I cancel it, when then takes ages for it too cancel it. In 3 weeks ive printed 1 A4 page as im giving up with it! It will take over 20mins to cancel a print. When it does decide to print, it will print the last sentence. Its very frustrating.I did the full set up going by the book, watched the video etc which to be honest I dont normally do, but because this is important work I wanted to make sure it was done properly.So disappointed.
Really happy
My old printer was a HP. I bought the. Correct ink but the printer always said on the settings that the ink was third party and would show the ink as being full.I decided to buy a new one and after some time of searching I de useful to buy this one. I was pleasantly suprised.The price was discounted to a reasonable price. I carried out a print test on 6 pieces of on A4. I expected that it would print out all on 6 pieces es of printer paper, but it didn’t. To my surprise it printed all of the info on only 3. I watched snd the paper printed on one side the printed it out on the back. I was really pleased because it reduced the amount of paper. I’m sure that could be changed to print on the 6 pieces of paper, but I’m really pleased with the results so far.The cost of the printer was better than buying it directly t from the usual shops, and with next day delivery on Amazon it was a no brainier.I very happy with the new printer and definately recommend this printer.
Connection Problems
Nice printer, very quiet …but sadly doesn’t wirelessly hold the connection to my desktop computer but stays wirelessly connected to my cell phone using identical wireless connection/settings. The only times I can wirelessly connect to my desktop is when I open the Canon email that a technician sent to me with an update link which I’m having to repeat installing every time I want to use the printer from my desktop computer. The canon app shows ‘ready’ but when I go to the desktop app it says, ‘not ready’. I’m now having to purchase a cable to remove this ridiculous obstacle and would not recommend this printer to anyone just because of the connection problems which actually seems to be a theme with this otherwise decent printer. Very disappointed to be honest …do not buy.
Cheap and OK
When my well used Canon Pixma finally died I looked for a new printer. My requirements had changed – I no longer need 6 separate inks and a slide scanner – so I looked for something more basic.This TS5150 is certainly fairly basic. I’m trying to use it more often, because my old printer had issues due to infrequent use. The print quality is perfectly acceptable and although I won’t be printing photos, the one I tried was fine as well. The main thing I wanted was the ability to connect with USB as well as Wifi – this has that connection.Having to lift the front cover right up is an irritation, it tells you off and won’t do anything if you don’t have it in the right position. The paper tray holds very little – but I’m only using it for the odd thing that needs printing so I don’t mind that. I’ve got it set on ‘quiet mode’ – the actual printing is fairly quiet, the amount of chuntering and whirring that goes on each time before it prints is more irritating.Having set up loads of printers over the years I found this one surprisingly awkward. The instructions weren’t particularly helpful and my Windows 11 laptop didn’t see it as a plug and play item.I’m very happy with the quality of scans. It’s a shame it doesn’t use the same software as my old Canon, although I kept the program it isn’t compatible with the new printer/scanner.It’s a cheap printer, which does a good job if you want something for occasional printing. If you do a lot of printing then I would spend more and get something with more paper capacity.
