Simplify systemically
Systems will save you! This book is not an ode to digital apps but the development of systemic thinking and approaches to reduce mental load and control the never-ending list of time sucking-routine tasks both at work and at home. Not a rigid, timetabled approach but a flexible way of working out the most efficient way to get things done today, tomorrow and the day after. A useful book for anyone who feels that they need to get some breathing space and drop all the busyness.

A Thought Provoking Read with a Cool Robot Friend
I wasn’t entirely sure what I was expecting when I picked this up, but it turned out to be a genuinely good read. The author breaks down no code tools and productivity systems in a way that feels accessible rather than overwhelming, and I found myself looking at my daily routines from a fresh angle. Also I’ve got to give a shout out to the cover. The little robot on the front instantly grabbed my attention :)If he could’ve walked out of the page and organised my inbox for me, I would’ve let him.The only thing I wasn’t fully on board with was the title. “Automate or Die” feels a bit dramatic for my taste. Personally, something like “Automate or Get Left Behind” would’ve hit the same point without sounding like I’m about to face off in a productivity Hunger Games. But marketing is marketing, I suppose!Overall, it’s an educating and insightful read that offers plenty of practical ideas. If you’re curious about automation or want to reclaim a bit of mental space, this book is definitely worth your time.

An Ideas book. Not a step-by-step “How to” book
I really liked the whole Life OS idea. It makes everything feel practical and genuinely useful, not just more productivity talk. The system for running goals and routines is solid and easy to follow. I was hoping for something a bit more technical though, so it’s a four out of five for me.

This book completely changed how I manage my time and energy—automation finally makes sense.

Automate or Die offers a structured, practical approach to building personalized productivity systems using no-code automation tools like Zapier, Make, and Pabbly. The book focuses on real-world applications—automating recurring tasks, creating adaptable workflows, and reducing decision fatigue—rather than abstract productivity theory. It also introduces the concept of a “Life OS,” a customizable framework for managing goals and routines efficiently. The writing is clear, jargon-free, and geared toward professionals and creators seeking actionable ways to reclaim time and mental space. A solid resource for readers who prefer step-by-step guidance and tangible outcomes over motivational advice.

This book can possibly open your eyes to how much time you’ve been waste doing small, repetitive tasks every day. Automate or Die makes automation easy to understand, even for someone with no tech background. The author explains how to use tools like Zapier and Make to simplify routines and save hours each week. I really liked how the book combines practical steps with mindset advice about living intentionally. The “Life OS System” idea is especially powerful because it helps you manage goals and habits in one place. It is clear, motivating, and packed with ideas you can actually use. You will pretty much learn how to automate most anything in your life. Even things you may never have thought of before!

Dylan Sverjensky

Overall a nice book to read with a morning coffee. Straight to the point. I liked the tone of the author. He provides a great point of view that makes you look at your daily activities from a different angle. However, the book can be renamed to “Overengineer Your Life or Die”. With all due respect, who would automate everything they do and they create a dashboard to look at their metrics? Also the part with automating your relationships sounds a little off. I don’t need to create a shared calendar with e.g. my mother to remember her birthday. We are not robots.
