Out of this world quality and control
The display is amazing for it has a feature set to customise the brightness and contrast with shadows and highlights which i’ve never had on a display before so all my games pictures and videos look stunning. It’s incredibly bright, it is a bit too intense at the highest settings which is great for shade range.
Good colour, clarity and motion. Some IPS glow.
I’ve had this monitor for a month. After much research, I settled on this as the best wqhd screen that would give some boost in gaming and also work better for office work. I generally sit 2ft from the screen.Firstly, the G-sync works flawlessly, so that’s good.Secondly, the colour reproduction is as good as you can reasonably ask for outside of monitors specifically designed for graphics editing. Gamma is a bit off out of the box, but that’s easily fixed. Movement is very smooth. I wasn’t sure if the upgrade from 60Hz to >100Hz would be worth it, but it’s actually really nice. Even having jitter free dragging in office environment is nicer than 60Hz.Third, the stand does everything you want, like not wobble, tilt, rotate to portrait mode etc. The only negative is that the downward facing input sockets are positioned to be really hard to plug anything into. Still, you don’t do that too often (I suppose).HDR is a waste of time, but I didn’t expect otherwise.ELMB Sync works, but honestly the downsides (altered colour profile, ghosting) aren’t worth the upside (blur reduction) for me. I find blur much more acceptable than ghosting, and I’m also fussy about colour profiles. If you hate blur, you’ll like ELMBWith trace free, and naturally good latency, I honestly find blur suppression to be very good anywayThe monitor comes with a host of gaming features I don’t use, from a variety of wildly unrealistic colour profiles, to ‘vivid pixel’ which just applies a mass sharpen filter to your screen, to superimposed crosshairs and what have you. I just don’t use these things, so can’t really comment. There is at least a quick access menu so you can toggle them on and off with ease if that’s your thing. The blue light filter is useful – but it’s easier to do that in your OS.The biggest negative is IPS glow. It’s noticeable in the corners, being red tinted on the right and blue tinted on the left. It disappears with a more square viewing angle, but sitting 2ft away it’s quite noticeable on a plain background or dark screen. Sitting 3 feet away reduces it considerably.
Ok monitor – lack of supporting information
Not a bad monitor and certainly has led to a sharper PC gaming experience. 2 frustrations: (1) the monitor stand is functional and although it has good tilt / pivot functionality the ability to change the screen height is limited; (2) lack of operating instructions within the box to understand how to change display settings. My first impression of the monitor wasn’t the best. The default display settings look dreadful (in my opinion) and the monitor buttons have limited functionality and ability to change these. Without operating instructions I ended up searching online for a manual (which I found) but this still didn’t help change the display settings. By chance I found an ASUS widget which I downloaded and this did the trick – enabling me to access the display settings and customise. My frustration is why didn’t ASUS include some kind of link to this really important information in the box? It could have saved me a couple of really frustrating hours and certainly hasn’t endeared me to the brand.
Has area of bad pixels
Works but it has an area of defective pixels, easy to see when the screen is black. There’s a discolouration around the area and when the screen is black it clearly shows an area of blue dots. Less blue dots visible with the naked eye but still a concerning amount
¡Calidad excepcional!
This monitor is so good in overall i do recommend it
Ordered VG27AQ a few weeks prior and have had zero issues with the screen so far after initial calibration/setup. Zero dead/stuck/bright pixels, lucky! For an IPS screen, it’s great to look at (and extremely bright, you can use the monitor at 0 brightness and still see the picture quite well- most of the calibration profiles I’ve seen leave it at 0). You can see it from all angles very clearly and even from far back. I sit relatively close to the screen with my desk setup, but it’s exactly what I wanted as I can only have one monitor on the desk. I have only noticed a little bit of backlight bleed in the lower right corner, but it’s a very small area and overall quite acceptable for an IPS screen with such a thin bezel. Have not noticed any IPS glow when sitting dead center or even slightly off (as a note, there is always variation with manufacturing, so some monitors might have either more than mine).I have used it to play both PC and Switch, and it works great for both, no complaints (the speakers are indeed a little weak, but they are only 2 watt and more for function than real use and at least it has speakers to do so). The only unfortunate part in my temporary setup is that the MSI laptop I’m using (GS65 Stealth with RTX 2060) combined I suggest/recommend expecting to just use fullscreen settings with games on the Asus (I suspect it’s more the laptop than the screen, once I build my new desktop I will confirm if this is still the case with a desktop 1070).The refresh rate is excellent, one of my older screens is an old 1080p Dell VA panel from around 2014 and the refresh rate is around 7ms so I would sometimes miss quick reaction mechanics in some games despite the nice screen quality otherwise with what it offered. I had zero build quality issues on my Asus, everything in the box looked to be in order and all included hardware was perfect and complete. For the price and what the monitor brings, it is definitely a good value as long as there aren’t any pixel or manufacturing issues. There are better monitors with picture quality, but usually those are VA panels which have their own set of characteristics and a 3 year warranty (the comparable LG 27GL850 only has a 1 year warranty which is short when compared to their competitors like Asus and Acer).

In terms of quality it is good, however when it comes to frame rate the website description is inaccurate. Website says that the max framerate is 170 however the actual monitor can only go up to 144.
