Fantastic HDD drive all round and solid read/write speeds. Good value for money and very reliable!
A solid HDD drive with a massive storage space. I’ve been buying Seagate HDD’s for a long time and they have never failed me. I trust the brand and this purchase was no different. Easy to use, just plug and play and the drive is pre-formatted in NTFS. The write speeds are solid at 100-150 MB / Second and the read speeds are quite good too. Have a number of 4K resolution videos and ton’s of photos which I have stored on the drive and experienced no lag in reading them from the drive.
Quality and size
Seagate is perfect and speed is tops. Out of all portable drives. Seagate is the best. All mine are Seagate as they work instantly. For price wise is. Worth it if you use them a lot and quality is great. Very compact so does not take a lot of room.
Expensive but worthwhile.
This hard drive bucks the trend of computer memory devices beconing cheaper per MB in recent times. It id an ezpensive option for most, and is not terrifically speedy transferring data to and fro. For those out there with sizeable video libraries, this device is nonetheless the best optoon for your storage needs. Seems to be robust enough to safely keep your data safe, and drlivers data at a decent rate. Knock some cash off and the 4 stara would become 5 easily.
Great HDD, great pricing and great transfers.
No issues with this external HDD – I wanted to make sure all my files were transferred over properlt from my old computer to my new onez and having 2TB was more than enough for me to backup what was necessary. Files transferred and copied quickly without much issue, and stores them well. Definitely worth the money and will hopefully last me years from now!
Great Drive
This is a good little drive – works out of the box with Windows 10 & 11 and Linux (Fedora and Mint) with no setting up required. The speed seems reasonable and as an external storage drive used for backups or easy transfer between machines it a great buy.
It does what it is supposed to
I do like Seagate products as they work as described and the build quality and feel is second to none (at least in this price range).This drive is perfectly compact and easy to slip into a pocket, bag or even an envelope if needs be. The cable length is adequate, although I’d prefer a couple of extra inches – I’m sure I’m not alone in that sentiment.Another thing I like about the size, is the uniformity with other drives – for example, the width and length are exactly the same for a 3T and 4T drive – only the depth is different, which for me saves a lot of time and effort.I’ve had no issues using it, it has worked perfectly well since the first plug-in until now.Also, it seems fairly rugged and strong; it survived an accidental drop down a flight of stairs without even a scratch, unlike the phone that fell out of the same pocket at the same time!!
Linux compatible
Slightly bigger than a playing-card, thinner than a pencil, this is an admirably neat design. I went straight away for a format, in case it had buggy Micro$haft stuff on it. I used a live Mint DVD to partition the drive into a 1GB EFI partition, a 50GB ext4 partition for operating system(s), a 1.76TB ext4 storage area and a small swap partition to match my RAM. Everything worked first time. Then I installed Linux Mint 22.2 Zara on the 50GB partition. So, if my main drive fails, my system can boot to a situation that makes recovery possible. Enormous value for money.
Storage capacity
It arrived fast , out of the box, plugged and started without any problems but I ordered 6tb device . But it is actually 5.45 tb . I understand that may be the balance taken up for it’s software but if I knew that I would have bought 2 x 4tb my passport ,which they are much smaller and no need for power supply, much portable and less noisy.Disappointed with the storage capacity, early days just used it for one day so far.I didn’t want to send it back because had already started using it .It would have been nice to have a travel case of some sort.I must say ,so far so good .I bought Seagate because already have a 4tb, which I have had for 7 years and it is now full.
Achei o produto excelente pois formatou em NTFS (veio formatado como exFAT); como uso para fazer backup de muitos arquivos pesados precisou ser no formato NTFS que é compatível com o PC. Estou fazendo o backup plugando o HD através da USB 2.0, apesar de ter percebido que no USB 3.0 é muito mais rápido, porém para não dar problema de salvar os arquivos, prefiro fazer de forma mais lenta. O produto chegou muito rápido que esperava, adiantando em 5 dias úteis para receber. Até agora não deu nenhum erro das trilhas do HD e a capacidade dele me satisfez. Mais para frente quero comprar outro igual.

These drives just keep getting bigger. They’re ideal for me for media storage. I’ve been using Seagate Drives for many years. Never a problem. This one appears to be of the same quality.
