Worked without an issue
I dont tend to leave reviews on hard drives straight away, prefer to use them for a long duration and then post and I have to say that they have worked wonderfully.
Quiet, big, easy to install if you can handle wires
Absolutely whisper quiet even under load, loads nice and fast and takes up little space in my case. actually installing it in the PC was a bit of a hassle with wire management but other than that, no complaints! 4tb is more than enough for me and my tastes.
Seems good, and is CMR but a bit noisy
This only loses a star due to a bit noisy.Other than that it seems good quality, fast and most importantly it’s a CMR drive. Been using it fairly regularly for several months now with no issues.Just to underline a point… MANY HDDs are now SMR (shingled magnetic recording) which you will want to AVOID as they are MUCH slower than CMR.In most cases you’ll need to research the drives as this information isn’t made obvious … Because manufacturers know customers don’t want them. So they’ve been sneaking them into product lines.
FireCuda is 300% faster at write speeds than Barracuda
Bought 4TB FireCuda for game storage and 1TB Barracuda for file backup. This is my observed difference in write speed performance while encrypting the drives at the same time. Honestly, if you plan to go for FireCuda, I’d suggest to go for top storage option available as it’s cheaper over the long run.FireCuda:-Average: 250MB/s-Best: 300MB/sBarracuda:-Average: 100MB/s-Best: 150MB/s

Seagate FireCuda HDD, 4 TB, Internal Hard Drive HDD – Not so Good HDD
Seagate FireCuda HDD, 4 TB, Internal Hard Drive HDD (SEE Update below)Had this about 9 months or so now, I had a 4tb Seagate Barracuda drive before this and my god that thing was the slowest HDD I’ve ever had, I absolutely hated it, copying any reasonable amount to data to it took an eternity, this one I’m happy to say is absolutely the polar opposite, for a “spinning rust” HDD it is really quite fast, obviously don’t expect SSD type performance but for a data drive or a games drive it’s great.It’s got a good amount of cache and a fast rotation speed of 7200rpm and those are what helps it I think, as soon as the cache filled up on the barracuda that thing just dropped to USB 1 speeds, it was hopeless, this one I can recommend.UPDATEJust a month or so after writing this review I find myself sending it back as it failed quite abruptly obviously with significant data loss (mainly streaming media for Plex), as far as the returns process goes Amazon initially wanted me to contact the manufacturer but after a little chat and a word with his superior the Amazon assistant agreed to the return and refund, a little disappointed with the failure as I did feel like I was buying a more expensive and superior drive in the Firecuda but well it lasted less than a year and was fitted in a very well ventilated case with fans blowing directly across the drives so no real excuses.

Very disappointed. Seagate used to have a reputation for good quality products but this is no longer the case. Having purchased a new 4TB hard drive it was grinding a clicking away straight away. Requested a replacement, which did the same thing after an hour. I would suggest a different brand.
I’m not obsessed with benchmarks, but the drive doesn’t seem any faster than a cheaper one from the same brand. That said, this hard drive works well and seems pleasantly quiet to me.

So far so good. Fast disk and not too noisy. Fingers crossed I can say the same in 15 years time which was the age of the disk this replaced.
Prodotto ottimo: capiente veloce e silenzioso. Con tecnologia cmr lo rende un prodotto affidabile e con prestazioni stabilite anche nell’utilizzo più intenso. Il peso è rilevante, ma non credo rappresenti una linitazione per la tipologia di prodotto.Unico appunto ad amazon: il primo che mi è arrivato ha subito danni causati dal trasporto. Il secondo articolo era invece perfetto ed imballato meglio.
