This book covers the normal anatomy of the human body as seen in the entire gamut of medical imaging. It does so by an initial traditional anatomical description of each organ or system followed by the radiological anatomy of that part of the body using all the relevant imaging modalities. The third edition addresses the anatomy of new imaging techniques including three-dimensional CT, cardiac CT, and CT and MR angiography as well as the anatomy of therapeutic interventional radiological techniques guided by fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MR. The text has been completely revised and over 140 new images, including some in colour, have been added. A series of ‘imaging pearls’ have been included with most sections to emphasise clinically and radiologically important points. The book is primarily aimed at those training in radiology and preparing for the FRCR examinations, but will be of use to all radiologists and radiographers both in training and in practice, and to medical students, physicians and surgeons and all who use imaging as a vital part of patient care. The third edition brings the basics of radiological anatomy to a new generation of radiologists in an ever-changing world of imaging.

R Pay

Five stars due to lack of competition for the junior radiology registrar.
I have to give this five stars for lack of other radiology imaging textbooks for the junior registrar. This is only ideal as an introductory text. It is not adequate for a subspecialty rotation. Decent enough for the FRCR part 1 anatomy exam.

Five Stars
Everyone reading for FRCR part 1 should have this book. Essential reading.

Cyberbob20k

Excellent textbook – newly updated
The latest edition (3rd I think) has rid itself of the errors that made the first edition difficult to recommend. In its current guise, this is an essential text for all FRCR and FFR trainees. Comprehensive text with updated and clinically useful pictures and diagrams make this an excellent book that’s never far from hand during my daily practice.

Four Stars
The is really good as a reference for FRCR anatomy.

Bodger

Poor, full of mistakes
I forked out £47 for this book. It is rediculous that a book that costs this much can be riddled with mistakes. The previous edition also had mistakes. Much better off getting a ‘proper’ anatomy book (or dig out your medical school one) and combine it with Weir and Abrahams. I have been so fustrated with this book that I have only used it on one occasion. It’s gatehring dust now.

Ayad Abbas

20% of book is very usefull
1/ many errors2/ few pictures3/ no mnemonics4/ few diagrams5/ very few radiological landmarks6/ explanations are not short and diagnostic like FRCR books (mocks and case study).7/picture quality 6/10Pictures and diagrams are very helpful but they are few.It cannot be reference in radiological anatomy.

Errors make it unreliable
This is a review for the 1st edition. This book had so much potential to be a great textbook, but the copious errors make it almost unusable as you need a reliable textbook beside it to make it useful. In short, buy the second edition (even though this one is also full of errors).

Moni

Gehört in die Bibliothek von jedem Radiologen. Anatomie in der Bildgebung super gut erklärt. Habe mich damit bestens auf die Facharztprüfung vorbereiten können.
