Works well, 350MB/s seq write
Best one.
Synology has tried more to lock down their media and expansions, especially in the upper range of the product lineup. While you can find workarounds for the hard-disk nags and warnings about unsupported drives, I’m not so sure about SSD cache drives – I didn’t try it, and these work OK but are quite pricey for what you get in capacity and performance. You’re not going to get Gen 4×4 throughput here, and ultimately you need two drives to have some redundancy if you want to use them as cache. If you cache the metadata and such it does improve directory operations nicely, so it’s worth doing it if you have a lot of files.
