I ordered this mostly to use it with my e-ink writing tablets rather than a laptop. And I’ll be using it potentially both on my treadmill and at my recliner where this stretches nicely across the arms of the chair.I like that you have an adjustable riser. It’s easy to move to different positions, either for typing at your laptop or in my case holding up my tablets for reading. Then it can lay flat when I need to write on them. It’s a sturdy wooden platform, and it fits the treadmill and recliner options well. It’s pretty large, but it has to be for larger treadmills (this isn’t for smaller walking pad styles). Overall, it just works for what I need.
I was excited for this, because I wanted a stand that could easily hold a laptop up to use with a standing desk. Unfortunately, this wasn’t exactly what I was hoping it would be.Pros:- Size: It’s easily wide enough and stable enough to fit across a treadmill, and there’s space to put a mouse, a drink, paper, pens…it’s basically a portable work surface- Stability: It includes a strap to hold it in place, and it won’t move once you have it tied down.Cons:- Cannot hold a full-size laptop: This was the big deal-breaker for me. I attached a picture of my laptop to this review, and while it can stand up, the little ledge on the bottom is not tall enough to keep it in place if it is shaken or bumped. This is really more for a tablet than a laptop. My tablet was held fine, but it does not have a keyboard.- No Phone Stand: I originally thought that the tiny slot to the right of the laptop stand was to hold phones or tablets, but it’s nowhere near deep enough. I think it’s just for pencils.- Included tools are poor quality: A small screwdriver was shipped with the parts to put it together, but the screwdriver did not fit the screws, and the metal of the screwdriver began wearing away when I tried to turn it. I ended up using my own screwdriver, which worked well.- Uneven join: The stand is shipped in two main parts, which have to be screwed together in the middle. I tried adjusting and readjusting, but the two halves are not quite even when they are screwed together, which means that there are a lot of uneven edges where the two sides join together. If this was ever placed on a table, I’d be worried that it would scratch up anything underneath it, unless a piece of felt or a pad was placed beneath.Overall, it’s not really what I wanted. I’m particularly annoyed because it would have been fine if the one piece of wood used to stop your laptop from sliding down was just a little taller. It would have been a really easy fix! Overall, it works, but it’s not incredibly high quality.
This treadmill desk attachment has made it much easier for me to watch videos while using the treadmill. There is plenty of space for a water bottle, notebook, or even snacks if you are using it for longer sessions. The wood feels solid and smooth, not flimsy or rough like I was worried it might be. It fit my treadmill just fine, but definitely check the rail width before ordering to make sure it lines up. Overall, it is a simple way to turn your treadmill into a more productive space without spending a ton.
