Best printer I have ever owned

The worst printer I’ve ever had
Six months in and the printer has completely packed up. You have to clean the print headers every time you turn the thing on, and then it will not print a clear page, even though it has a perfect nozzle pattern. I have spent hours despairing and trying to clean the thing. A complete waste of money

NOT GREAT
Got this through work [not on my account] for the office, in principle it is a great printer – a little bigger than i had anticipated so it sits on a 2 drawer filing cabinet – my issue with this printer is 2 fold – firstly it will not print black in standard mode, it has to be set to high quality in order to print anything in black!! At first i thought perhaps it was a poor ink cartridge but this appears not to be the situation as the problem continues after changing it. the second issues for me is quite big – you cannot readily remove an ink cartridge from the printer until it is empty – it is not designed to suit cartridge change at your convenience. so the issue i had with the black ink meant i was unable initially to change a cartridge to test if it was a cartridge fault. It can be done but involves pulling the power cord as a page is ejected to the print out tray, turning some cogs inside , and positioning the ink tanks to permit ejection!! – a real ball ache and frankly a massive, massive, let down for a canon product. i love canon printers but frankly i hate this one with a vengeance and most certainly would not recommend this printer to anyone.

Avoid this Printer
Bought the printer 18 months ago.Everything OK initially then stopped printing in black.Did a deep clean on numerous occasions and although a perfect “Test Print Pattern” still left large gaps on the black printout.Deep cleaning twice used up all the ink in all cartridges at a cost of £40+.It has now failed to recognise the magenta cartridge although I have tried two different ones in it.It obviously needs a new print head which by the time Iv’e paid for a new one to be fitted will be almost the price of a new printer.I will be taking it to the local tip this weekend and will certainly not be replacing it with a canon.
