Customers say

Customers find the hard drive works well with NAS systems, particularly with TerraMaster NAS, and appreciate its consistent read/write speeds and high storage capacity. The drive is easy to install and offers good value for money, with one customer noting it provides double the recording capacity. While some customers find it very quiet, others mention a rhythmic pulsing humming noise.

Make sure the SATA ports on your motherboard are not disabled when using multiple NVMe drives.
Excellent drive! Fast delivery to Ireland. The drive is really well packaged. It initialized without a single problem and supports some settings from SeaChest. Moderately noisy (drive on a tray from Fractal Design). Like any piece of technology, it requires certain handling skills. I will buy more, and only from the official Seagate store. Unfortunately, there are too many refurbished units on the market.

Worked right out of the box with frigate!
Absolutely amazing, was a breeze to swap out an old one with this, just had my old regular barracuda die on me from 3.5years of uptime (continous) functioning as an NVR drive, out of which around 1 year was fully writing 24/7, I am hoping this will last around the same or longer, frigate is fairly good on writing to storage, and this immediately got picked up and formatted brand new drive was in place and being recorded onto in like 5 mins from opening the package. It was in an ESD bag and the box was strong and had a sort of tangy movement for the drive so even if it got slammed during delivery it would still work just fine.Since this is lower power consumption than my previous drive it would generate less heat too which is just a bonus. So far its silent mounted sideways in a drive bay, just using it in a stripe so will definitely see how long it will last.Fairly cheap and with 3 cameras constantly writing to it, I can store around 30days worth of 1080p footage, maybe even more, but I dont want to reach 90% usage on a drive constantly.

Excellent disc.
A good disc for large storage.

Good item. Does the job nicely.
I bought this HDD for my CCTV DVR setup that runs 24/7. So far it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to.There’s a slight hum when it’s running (bit like a quiet fridge) but that’s pretty normal for a 3.5” drive. Keeps cool and doesn’t make any strange noises.PROS- Plug and play, worked straight away in my DVR (after format prompt by the DVR)- Designed for CCTV use so it can handle continuous 24/7 recording with ease.- Runs cool and stable so far. Generally quick for watching back videos.- Seagate gives data recovery support and drive health tools which is a nice bonus.CONS- Very slight hum, so not silent, though you’d only notice if it’s in a quiet room.Overall:If you’re setting up or upgrading a CCTV/DVR system, this is a solid pick. Works as expected, no drama, just does its job.Not bad value for a 4TB drive.

All ok.
All ok.

Makes a lot of noise for a new HDD!
Hopefully it will prove to be long lasting but only time will tell. However, it does make a bit of noise which suggests that its longevity may be shorter than the manufacture suggests.

Good performance for RAID1 in my home server. Using it to boot VM’s and serve media from, no issues!
