I’ve always been happy with the quality of Yale locks. I picked this one because of the Zwave integration and it is flawless. I’ve had many issues with other competitors, but this one works perfectly with my Home Assistant setup.
Works great and is a big step up from the earlier model (which often didn’t play well with Home Assistant and often broadcasts false or out-of-date information such as open/close/jammed).This version however, was just as easy to install and works flawlessly with Home Assistant. The emergency-use battery contacts (in case the internal batteries die) is a nice touch. It just works 🙂 Also, battery life is great…I’m still on the first set months later. The only issue is the distance from the Z-Wave–the hub must be relatively close by. Even though Z-wave is a mesh network, this device doesn’t use Z-Wave LR, and apparently doesn’t allow for multiple ‘hops.’ I learned the hard (expensive) way, this is common for Z-Wave smart locks and not specific to the Yale.
This is a fabulous lock. So happy I purchased it over hall others. Works with my phone, finger print or numerical code. I can even set up individual codes for family members. This is the real deal.
Horrible product! My $40 Wyze fingerprint lock is much better! Recognizes the fingerprint much faster and without problems. Yale should be ashamed of this product. Your fingerprint must be impeccably clean and dry for it to work. My Wyze? Dirty and wet fingers, still UNLOCKS! GARBAGE! STAY AWAY!
